Watching the Liberty-Kentucky game...
One of the Liberty girls stepped out to inbound the ball, but passed it to another Liberty girl out of bounds in the corner and then that girl inbounded it... I've never seen that before. Is that within the rules?

Yes, that's legal. It's just something that's very rarely utilized.

It is legal, but a poor use of resources to have two players starting off the court.

If it is after a made basket (which I'm assuming it was), yes.

Some good games going on - Not sure which one I'd rather be watching!
But ESPN has me on TCU-Dayton. Really surprised Dayton managed to come back.. 43 ticks left, TCU up 64-63, Dayton has the ball. Good finish in store..

Dayton whips TCU. But did Brittany Wilson travel just before the winning shot?
EDIT: Nope. Just saw the replay.

I'm torn on whether or not I like the brackets rotating on my screen. It's nice to see them and all but it makes having a widescreen tv useless.
Wish ESPN was watching the men's results. They had Nova winning _________________ If you cannot inspire yourself to read a book about women's basketball, or any book about women's sports, you cannot inspire any young girl or boy to write a book about them. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Richardstrek

Its a play that I rarely ever seen done at the collegiate or pro level but at the high school level, I'd seriously doubt if every coach doesn't have at least one play like that in their playbook. Most coaches save it for one of their end of quarter/half/game trick plays... And also, it can't be done after a dead ball.

Not really, once the pass is made the player who made the pass usually steps in which gives the inbounder four options again. And usually whenever this play is done, the pass is meant to be a long pass down the floor for something quick.

One more quick question about inbounding rules. In the UCONN-OU game, Caroline Doty inbounded the ball on a made basket but somehow turned it over. Is there a specific place you can't inbound?
Sorry for misusing this thread to ask about rules I should already know about. lol

She probably stepped over the line before the ball left her hands.

I remember in that game, Maya Moore tried to inbound to Doty, but she threw her the ball before she got both feet out of bounds. One foot was out of bounds and the other was still in.

IIRC, it's legal only on an inbounds play after a made basket.

It can only be done after a made basket (including free throws), when the inbounding team can move along the baseline to inbound.
If there's a timeout taken immediately after a made basket, when the teams return to the floor for the inbounds, they can either move along the baseline (off of the designated spot) or use this play where a player jumps out and takes the pass.
It's important for the official to be aware of this possibility so that they don't interfere.

Is ESPN360.com the only place to watch games online? I guess my internet connection isn't a "high-speed internet connection from an ESPN360.com affiliated internet service provider." :\

ESPN charged cable companies for the ability to offer ESPN360.com. My provider, Time Warner Cable, doesn't pay for ESPN360.com so I can't access it. Sounds like your cable provider doesn't pay for it either.

I was just about to ask for a reprieve from the Tennessee-Dayton massacre, and ESPN suddenly decided to switch me to Kentucky-Michigan State.
