Ref standing over AT and JJ like he was reffing a wrestling match.
Wait. That's what it has looked like!!!

Glad that AT is ok! Great rally by the Sun in her absence.
The game is beyond physical...sheesh!

Just knew that DB was gonna get AT her TD!!!!
The officiating sucks in this game. Laney travels in the lane and they all miss it. And the physicality of the game? Beyond acceptable.

Well, the league got what they wanted and NY and LV got what they paid for.

I've been out of the team-rooting business for almost fifteen years now, but I'm having a hard time imagining any Connecticut fans feeling happy for Jonquel Jones.

Didn't feel like a play so much as Tiffany Hayes choosing the worst possible time to go back to being c. 2015 Tiffany Hayes.

The WNBA homepage is the worst! Can't the league hire an intern to make updates? News of the Libs heading to the finals is buried in the scores banner up top. Instead, you're greeted with stories of the Aces punching ticket to the finals, the league's record-breaking views, and other outdated news. Ugh!

I like Tip but she is not someone you want in a position where she has to think.

The first three words aside, one hundred percent agreement.

I've said it plenty of times but I love watching Laney play. I wish she could've found her way back to the Fever somehow. We are especially weak at that position, too.
Anyways, we got the finals that were advertised all year. It should be fun!

WOW! I’m so impressed by Laney. Never really watched her much, but now I’m always keeping my eye on her. Talk about the X factor.
CONGRATS, NY. Beat the pants off the Aces, PUHLEASE!

YOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
so I just got home
but let's start at the beginning.
It's 9:30 in the morning, and the two of us have defeated the MTA in plenty of time to board the bus that's supposed to leave at 10 AM. As we approach Barclays, we see the bus. And then we see the second bus. "Wow," the husband says. I'm a little dismissive. "We don't know how many front office people they're bringing," I say.
And then we see the third bus. And at that moment I know down to my bones that this. is. going. to. be. EPIC.
(and also that 9:30 was not early enough when free food was being provided)
Lemme tell you. When we all got off our buses and streamed through Sunrise Square... I got a song stuck in my head. (Ironically, I know it because the Sun used it in their entrance video one year and 99% of the time I associate it specifically with Alyssa Thomas.)
when they hear the sound of the drum
they'll be saying 'oh Lord here they come'
They stuck us in the highest corner of the arena. That's fine. That's where the banners go. They stuck us in the darkest corner of the arena. That's fine. Someone forgot that our slogan this season is "Light It Up". And I know we did.
The physicality of the game was not as clear from above as it is on TV or at a lower level; more specifically it's a lot harder to tell who initiated contact when you're in the 10th row of the upper bowl, not that I was counting or anything. And for the love of God stop play when a player is down and not getting up.
But the haymakers that were metaphorically thrown. Neither team was backing down. I thought they had us in the first half and then Breanna Stewart woke up. I thought we were going to break it open and DeWanna Bonner told us all to go fuck ourselves. I thought they were going to pull it out but then Jonquel Jones grabbed another rebound. I thought we had them dead to rights and then Ty Harris happened. My God what a game. What a series. What a goddamn worthy opponent.
Alyssa Thomas pls get your shoulders fixed already, if you can start lifting your arms all the way up again you can start going for quad-doubles and they will have to give you MVP LIKE THEY SHOULD HAVE ALREADY.
We may have partied a bit enthusiastically in the corridors of the arena. Rizzo's gonna be the first GM to ask for a midday weekday playoff game the next time we meet them in the postseason.
The Nutmeg State attempted to have its revenge via I-95 roadwork, but we escaped successfully after about an extra 45 minutes.
in conclusion, I love everyone in this bar

Congrats, INDEED! Not the *prettiest* game (on many levels), but certainly competitive. BRIONNA Jones could have made a big difference for CT - Bonner was NOT gonna contain Jonquel.
And yes, Laney was amazing. I also thought there were some other noteworthy performances: Miss Carrington was excellent, in a lot of little ways that effected differences. Miss Allen was also impressive.
EDIT: Clarification on which Miss Jones CT could have benefitted from.

A physical game favors Connecticut.
