I will be upset if Chicago takes a guard unless someone like Tiffany Mitchell or Rachel Banham slips or if Jones, Boyette, Hamblin even Bulgak and Alleyne are all gone. If Pokey takes a guard she better have a trade up her sleeve, or pray Parker has made immense improvements.

Excelle Sports has Bulgak to Chicago.

Rydalch eyes WNBA Draft as exciting step in her future
http://www.heraldextra.com/sports/college/byu/basketball/women/rydalch-eyes-wnba-draft-as-exciting-step-in-her-future/article_5d39b6e3-7a11-5a34-a797-6e850ec21770.html
Quote: |
But things got real during the women’s college basketball Final Four in Indianapolis, when Rydalch participated in the WNBA Combine — the toughest job interview she will ever face.
“It was a great opportunity for me to showcase my skills against athletic players from different conferences,” Rydalch said. “It’s hard to prove yourself when you’re from a smaller conference. I thought I made the most of it. I played my best basketball out there. I set the goal to be the best one at the camp. That was my approach to it and that set the stage for how I played the whole time.” |
Quote: |
Teams were formed and the women competed in front of coaches and scouts from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. At the conclusion of the combine, Rydalch earned the right to play in an invite-only all-star game — she received a unanimous vote from the 12 WNBA coaches, was the word she got — and distinguished herself even more. |
Quote: |
Rydalch has an agent — Jeanne McNutty-King of 2X Inc., who also represented former BYU standout Erin Thorn during her WNBA career.
“I feel really good about her,” Rydalch said. “She’s been in the business 20-plus years and she has good relationships with the coaches in the league. There are quite a few teams interested, some more than others. I’ve talked with them and they were sure I would be drafted, it’s just a matter of where. I’ve gotten quite a bit of feedback. I think I really upped my draft stock with how I performed at the combine. I feel good about all I’ve done and all I can control.” |
Quote: |
Rydalch’s life is about to get really busy. After the draft she’ll report to training camp on April 24 while trying to fit in walking for graduation from BYU on April 21. |

Did not mean to say all the "Outside Experts" were picking guards. Your correct, and I am hoping it is either Boyette if available or Bulgak who should be there at the 10th pick.

USD's Seekamp Awaits WNBA Fate

“I for sure want to keep playing,” Seekamp said Wednesday.
“I’m still in that game mode, I guess. I want to keep that going.”
The 5-foot-10 guard from Australia, who signed with an agent after the WNIT, will watch tonight’s WNBA Draft from Vermillion. |
Quote: |
Seekamp signed with Sports International Group, Inc. (SIG), which manages clients looking to play in the WNBA or overseas.
Her agent told her there would be a fairly good chance that if Seekamp doesn’t get drafted, she could sign with a team as a free agent, Seekamp said.
“That’s the plan of attack,” she said. “There’s really not much downside.” |
Quote: |
If the WNBA isn’t an option for Seekamp, though, she’ll likely have other opportunities. But she’d have to wait.
She said overseas teams wouldn’t begin their seasons until September or October.
“I’d definitely consider that,” Seekamp said.
Another option could be returning home to play in Australia’s Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL), she said.
Seekamp, who finished her USD career ranked second all-time in points (2,056), assists (628) and steals (265), just wants an opportunity. Whatever and wherever it is. |

Loving all the mock drafts...by Rebkellians, draft sites, ESPN, WNBA, etcetera.
Not certain why folks have PHX taking a center...do we have doubts about (or forgot about) Isabelle Harrison...also Cayla Francis could return next season or after Olympics this season.
My guess is we draft a guard.
While not knowledgeable on these prospects, perhaps Copper or Miller in round one and hope for Weisner or Alleyne to fall to round two.
Perhaps we invite Hempen to camp versus using a 2nd or 3rd round pick for her?

I'm thinking NY would be better off taking Walton than Holmes, but maybe that's just my P12 bias.

Is she a SF?
If so maybe you're on to something (she has good defense and 3 point shooting numbers) but would Laimbeer or Bernet let that cat out of the bag to an insider leading to a draft day invite? It is a fun conspiracy theory to consider for the next few hours.

It gets back to the question of what is Walton's position defensively? It seems like there's an even split on this board. We know that Holmes is a SF. Most of us concede that Holmes is more in the category of a safe pick rather than an exciting one. Under those circumstances, I would love for Liberty management to surprise us and then explain why their pick works and what we've been missing.

Last few drafts I goofed by updating my draft at the last minute, so I'm sticking with the one I did last - a few weeks ago, I think.

I'm hoping that Tuck will fall down to number 5 so the Wings can draft her. |

Not sure who dressed Walker, but she's getting a F for wearing those shoes with that outfit. |

How about this on for size?
1. Seattle: Tess Picknell (Myrtle has been talking to Jenny about the wonders that Stanford has been hiding in Picknell.)
2. San Antonio: Nicole Seekamp (okay, as a pseudo-jackrabbit fan, I'm glad to see her go, but she's a damn good player.)
3. Connecticut: Annie Tarakchian (she didn't dye her hair this year--which is why Princeton lost the Ivy. or something like that.)
4. Connectict: Jamie Weisener (Pac's best)
5. Dallas: Ruthie Hamblin (how can you not like Ruthie?)
6. LA: Nicole Bauman (regressed this year, but still have fond memories.)
7. Wash: Tori Jarosz, Marist (Beast on my fantasy team. don't leave me please.)
8: Phoenix: Kelsey Minato, Army (swish. swish. swish. don't leave her open--she'll produce some daggers.)
9. Indy: Shereesha Richards, Albany
10. Chicago: Elle Tinkle, Gonzaaaga (Tinkle bells ring for the last time)
11. Atlanta: Rachel Theriot, Nebraska (injuries derailed the opportunity for a great ending to a good career. when did she become a senior?)
12. NY: Talia Walton, Washington (Okay, I mean, I dislike her for beating Stanford, but she's had a great career as a Husky.)
Okay, now I'm ready for that draft--and I'll look like a genius if any of my picks end up where they are. Especially Tess Picknell. Could you imagine? With the first pick of the 2016 Draft, the Seattle Storm select _______________ {NOT BREANNA STEWART}
It won't happen, but I'm just saying. Also, my list wasn't in any particular order to positional need, just thought of players as I came up with the ones I liked.
