Interesting thought. They could sure use a good guard out there on the perimeter. Cal needs good guards.

Did Yori resign, or was she fired? If she resigned, or was fired for cause, why is Nebraska buying out her contract?

This was from an article posted last week about the investigation and what prompted it.

A source with knowledge of the situation, speaking on condition of anonymity, told the Journal Star more than 10 players from the 2015-16 team, along with some support staff members, approached Nebraska athletic department administrators in early February with concerns about Yori’s treatment of players. |

Two sources also said a former director of basketball operations has come forward with a complaint against Yori for discrimination, and that Yori forced staff members to lie in vouching for her whereabouts as it relates to Yori's custody battle for their 11-year-old son. Yori and her husband, Kirk Helms, are in divorce proceedings. |
There's a lot of stuff: players complaining about hostile intimidating environment, staff worried about players being forced to play, impending discrimination lawsuit, assistants being asked to lie about coaches personal life. If I'm AD I'm thinking, I don't get a handle on this situation, I'll have the NCAA in house getting a handle on this situation. |
That's a lot of crap hitting the fan.

She was probably fired - without "for cause". That is, she didn't do anything that they can use as a clear easy-to-win-in-court case for breach of her contract.

Jessica Shepherd says she staying and shares her perspective on a Nat Romeos comments from last week
http://m.omaha.com/huskers/huskers-jessica-shepard-plans-to-stay-excited-for-fresh-start/article_b57541d4-9635-5139-80cd-87598c718d0a.html?mode=jqm
Shepard was peeved at her teammate, guard Natalie Romeo, for telling the media that all player abuse allegations against Yori were false and mostly the result of player “immaturity.” Romeo said NU’s practices throughout the season were easy.
“If you’re going to transfer, maybe leave a little more quietly,” Shepard said when asked about Romeo’s comments, made late last week. “You don’t need to say anything and kind of throw your teammates under the bus. It’s hard when a teammate throws you under the bus — whether they’re moving on or not — because you went through everything with that person a couple months ago.”

Was it throwing them under the bus for outing them for whining or lying about them whining? |
