took a ride in the time machine and bumped into this gem...
People are saying, mainly out west and in the east, that OU will be running into a buzzsaw in an angry Cardinal team with vengeance on the committee burning in their minds. Don't make me laugh. Stanford had every chance to secure a 4 or better by just taking care of business against lesser opponents in the Pac-10, and failed to do so. That have a grand total of 3 top 50 wins, while OU has 6 wins against the top 25, four of those wins against the upper half of the top 25.
They aren't as good as OU. And if anybody thinks that OU will back down from that fight, they have another thing coming. Sooner fans are a generally amiable and forgiving bunch, but Stanford's coaches, media and fans slandered OU mercilessly for two years after the unfortunate season-ending injury to Susan King in the 2000-2001 game between these two teams at Lloyd Noble.
I've got news for Stanford. It doesn't matter how pro- Pac-10 the fans in Tempe are, and it doesn't matter if you bring thousands of your fans to cheer on the Cardinal, and it doesn't matter that you are angry and motivated. If you show up, we will take you down hard.
Nicole Powell, meet Dionnah Jackson. You may not know it, but she is your worst nightmare. If you thought you knew the definition of that word, your dictionary is about to be re-written.
And Susan (King) Borchardt, meet Maria Villarroel. She might not be as physically strong as you are, but if you thought Pac-10 guards were occasionally quick, you are about to get a graduate-level re-education as to what quick really means.
And to all the other Stanford players, welcome to the world of the Big 12. Do you remember us from 2001? We are even tougher and more physical now than then. Aren't you looking forward to that kind of fun?
So I'm saying, bluntly, that I think OU will escape Tempe to the friendlier confines of Lloyd Noble.
2004 R2 stan 68 ou 43

Hmm. Oklahoma recently lost to Texas, but since Texas beat Cal that doesn't look so bad.
Stanford doesn't have the size in the middle that Texas has... so I'm thinking I lean slightly towards OU, but it will probably be a very close game.

Could we be on the verge of Sel Comm Nirvana?
Gonzaga advancing to Spokane. Could Oklahoma advance to OKC? UNC to GBoro?
Sell those seats baby!

Jesus why isn't this game on like ESPN2 at 11pm ET. Why squeeze this game with the early east games?? Absurd!

Williams can go around McCall every time. Unfortunately for OU, she doesn't seem to be able to make her layups once she's wide open.

Lili Thompson with the buzzer beater 3 to end OU's 7 point run and go into halftime down by 4.
Bonnie Samuelson has gotten some open looks at 3's but is 0-4. That hurts.

Sooners have gone ice cold. Need to get the ball to Little and see if she can heat things up.

Stanford opens the 2nd half on a 12-2 run to go up 6.
