Shall I vote for Michigan State, to see if I can influence the results around the nation this year?

After one game.
Now there is a meaningless statistic if I've ever seen one.
Although if you want to go down that path, it probably could have been higher. It was 61-24 at the half.

This is a good chance for ND to show the country that they will be fine without McBride and Achonwa...or not. blowout would make a good case for #1 IMO.

Maybe. They have one freshman starting and two more in the top 8 rotation, so while I am comfortable they'll be fine as the season progresses, I am less sanguine about where they are today.
So I'm looking forward to seeing the new faces and new tempo against a good opponent on a real TV (in contrast to watching them play UMass Lowell on my tablet).

ugly but ND is surviving to half with all their starter in foul trouble.

if uconn and nd were separated from the pack last year, it is apparent the gap has shrunk (even if nd beats msu by double-digits)

true. the gap has definitely shrunk. Of course we're still looking at early season stuff.

it looks to me like Turner travels every time she drives to the basket...

Damn that was ugly. Reimer was dreadful, Maybrey was 1-7, Cable 1-6, too many fouls, too few assists, got consistently outhustled for 50/50 balls.
I bet Muffet is pissed.
In the end talent and depth won out. Winning an ugly game is better than losing one, that's for sure.
I do think we got a taste of what Turner can do in the second half. She obviously was too hesitant in the first half of her first road game against a real opponent. I bet she got an earful at the half. Really impressive what she did in the first few minutes of the 2nd half.

Seems like ND always struggles at MSU.

I only saw the last little bit of that game (tuned in to watch my alma mater's men stomp all over Green Bay) and ND did not look all that sharp. But I had to remind myself it's early. MSU did look better than I expected though.

Good game. Turner is as advertised but like all freshman needs seasoning. i wondered how long MSU could keep up with the defensive intensity; well it didn't take long - first part of the second half just couldn't sustain it and ND took it to them.
Didn't know that MSU lost Branndais Agee and Williams for the season, huge loss for MSU in that regard as it really shrinks their rotation to just seven players.
Sue Merchant as Beyoncé. Really! What next, Wonder Woman. Oh, yeah, huh.

More believable than Matt Mitchell has Michael Jackson.

I think Suzy said that after Madi Williams tore her ACl again last spring, that she would never practice again.
