Guessing Las Vegas or Phoenix.

Those women in LA won't put up with her shit. She needs a no bullshit coach.
Taurasi could control her.

It’s likely Taurasi’s last season. But who knows. Maybe she’ll like the new system and will try to stick around for longer.

Taurasi cant even control her existing teammates. This was pretty weird to say , No one can control Lori Ann period.

Agreed. Plus, some time ago there was a story floating around that Merc were interested in a trade for Angel and Taurasi blocked it. Pretty sure Taurasi and Angel get along like water and electricity.

I'm guessing the Sparks or Dream. Sparks might have a bit of a problem with the cap if they resign Gray at the max, and get another top tier UFA (e.g. Diggins).

They’re both on Team USA. There’s no effort to block her from there. These things are most likely overstated. I do think McCoughtry is odd (as is Diggins), but bad teammate? I dunno if I’d go that far.

They put up with Candace Parker, who is many times worse than Angel.

Taurasi can't even control herself. I've lost count of how many times she's been suspended.

FWIW - I think part of the problem with Angel is she has always been by far the best player on the Dream. She tried too hard sometimes to carry the team likely because she doesn't trust her teammates. On a team with a lot talent that may not be a problem.

Taurasi though has no excuse for her behavior.

You may have misspelled 'slander.'

In terms of needs, Las Vegas and Los Angeles could use herand would be immediate title contenders if she's close to her old self. Maybe even New York or Chicago though I doubt Chicago would have the cap space.

The Sky only have five players under contract and three of them are on rookie deals. They should have tons of cap space.

I'm figuring Vandersloot and Quigley get max deals.

They would still have about $400k under the cap

Would make for an interesting lineup. Does DeShields or Quigley go to the bench? Are they then able to keep Dolson and/or Copper?

Yeah, they can definitely do it, but if they chased and got either of McCoughtry/Bonner (presumably at the max) and paid Vandersloot/Quigley like everyone expects, then that space starts to dwindle quickly and there are going to be casualties. Presumably you let Copper walk, and maybe Faulkner too (although with her injury history she might not have any offers for more than the vet minimum). Even then you may only be able to keep one of Dolson/Ndour.

I like that this stuff's an issue now. Some of the good-but-not-star players who are used to just getting somewhere near the max as a matter of course may be surprised by what's actually out there for them - especially if they want to be in a specific city.

$400K for 5 players. That’s an average of $80K ea.
Players still needing contracts: Dolson, Ndour, Copper, first round pick

If you get those 4 players for under $400K, that’d be quite the steal.
Wanna go cheaper on post players? Good luck with that.

Also, Vandersloot nor Quigley got cored so I doubt they’re signing for the full max.

No reason that they can't be. And having not cored either one, the last thing you want to do is piss them off with a low-ball offer so they start considering other offers. I'd imagine years might be the main negotiating issue with them - Vandersloot is about to turn 31, and Quigley hits 34 during the season. You might give Sloot the absolute full boat if she wants it, but 4 years would surely be too much for Quigley.

Point well taken! Laughing

But she's still the leader and controller of the team, in conjunction with the GM, coach and management. DT is uncontrollable herself but she does and will control others up to her level of influence. Control means playing accordingly or not playing. DT wouldn't let McCoughtry destroy the team nor would the coaching staff.

Oh yeah, definitely not saying it can’t be done or is impossible. Just assuming on the outside looking in to keep everybody intact that they would be willing to consider a small discount. Not huge.
