Even teams with owners that own their own arena can't seem to play in it in the playoffs.

Would probably be relatively easy to navigate if ESPN didn't virtually set the playoff schedule in stone. The lack of flexibility combined with the lack of income the games are likely to produce means venues are always going to end up having other events in the way.

This is the only playoff game that will be played in an alternative venue(of course Seattle won't be in Key Arena if they advance).

Which is why — though smaller than I’d like — the Mystics new home court is a huge improvement. No more getting pushed out to some suburban college venue in the playoffs this year.

The gameplan for Chicago.

* Double Cambage/Wilson- clog the paint.
* Don't double off of McBride
* Force Young,Young and Plum to beat us with the jump shot.
* Keep a body on Hamby at all times.
* Control the defensive boards/Keep Vegas off the offensive glass.
* Limit the turnovers.
* Diamond, Quigley, and Sloot must stay aggressive even if they're shooting poorly.
* Our frontline needs to stay out of foul trouble.
* We need at least 20 points from the bench....The bench is going to be the difference. I think the bench is going to come up huge...25+ points.

Gameplan for LV:

* Feed Cambge/Wilson.
* Make open shots.
* Control the boards. Vegas led the league in rebounding.
* Limit the turnovers.
* Limit Chicago's transition opportunities.
* McBride needs to stay attached to Quigley.

My prediction:

Chicago wins by 4-8 points

Dolson and Parker have had particular trouble guarding Cambage without fouling, and having Wilson didn't make it any easier. I was going for a Chicago win, but if it happens it will be a very difficult one, particularly for Dolson. I hope she does better than spent most of the game on the bench due to foul trouble.

Zune, you come up with this huge defensive scheme for Chicago. Apparently you think they should play 5-on-3 on defense and take their chances with the other two players.

But your defensive ganeplan for the Aces is to stick with Quigley? No mention of Diamond? They need to find Diamond and turn her back into a cubic zirconia.

Be cool to see how many of these end up on as keys to the game on the ESPN broadcast.

I’m not confident in Chicago’s defense for 40 minutes against the Aces to pull it off, but we’ll see.

If Laimbeer starts the Youngs then yes, playing 5on3 is going to give the Sky the best chance.

This one is a very close call but I'm going with the Sky because they have more playoff experience, and I just don't have that much confidence in the Aces. They screw up a lot. For example - the Dream beat them very recently.....

I was going to say "Limit Diamond in transition", but I change it to "Limit Chicago's transition opportunities" because the Sky's transition game is more than just Diamond, Sloot is the engine. I also don't believe LV has anybody who can guard Diamond. If DD has a bad shooting game it's going to be because she just missed shots. Despite scoring 25 in rd 1 DD missed a ton of wide open looks.

Diamond has not shot the ball well versus the Aces this season (14-44 fg), but she has gotten to the FT line (22-24 ft).

T. Young did well at getting under Angel's skin - maybe she can do that with Diamond. Of course, then she does have to play on the other end of the court as well.

Anyway - I'm rooting for the Sky, not that it makes any difference.

Plum will have to start off with a hot hand, otherwise she'll end up on the bench and giving JYoung a lot of minutes is not going to win this game. TYoung is going to get a lot of PT trying to guard Diamond.

I just hope Ruocco,Lobo and Rowe are not calling the Sky/Aces game.

I hope they aren't calling either game but I'm thinking they will cover the Sparks/Storm game and have the WNBA Ambassador to ESPN join the crew.

Dolson, Ndour, Parker and (when she played) Lavender couldn't stop Wilson and Cambage inside. Think that'll be the difference in this game.

Pam Ward/LaChina Robinson/Kim Adams will be doing the Sky/Aces game. The other 3 will be in LA.

Liz Cambage is super-relevant to my interests, so I'm all-in on the Aces, until the Aces are out. If Vegas loses, I'm rooting for whichever team is playing Washington.

The Aces are exciting to watch, but they're not a contender this season. I voted for the Sky here as I think their guard play will be too much for Vegas.
