PG: SDS/Jefferson/BMW
SG: Ogunbowale/Gray/Hill
SF: Stevens/Thornton/Davis
PF: Cox*/Johnson/Gustafson
C: Harrison/Anigwe/IMS
9th, 15th, and 21st Picks
*Assuming she’ll be the 2nd Pick
I still can't get over how many odds-and-ends pieces this team has. Looking at the roster like this, is keeping the 12 best players all they have to do? Or should they make a deal or two for further upgrades?

Like several other teams they need a true big big to compete with the increasing number of big bigs in the league. Plus the big bigs are bulkier than ever so harder to manhandle. 6'4" is no longer 'big'.

6'4 is the average height of the starting centers in the finals

She’s a part of numerous organizations, but assuming she means Dallas, I’ve been pointing out they no longer need her since the Jefferson trade and the drafting of Ogunbowale. Should have seen that coming a mile away.

Even healthy, Jefferson is a big downgrade if she comes back

Arike had a much better rookie year than Skylar did so she may be the better long term player. Certainly she has room to improve while Diggins (now 29) is probably as good as she is going to get and start to decline. So yeah - looks like trading Diggins now would be a good move. Not sure NY would be smart to make that deal, however. Dallas needs to fix whatever it is that keeps players from wanting to stay there or they will be in perpetual rebuild mode.

Reason #21 why I'm done with this league..."Players making vague comments on Social Media"....This could be a contract dispute. Diggins is a FA and is more than likely looking for a long term max deal. Dallas should do their best to re-sign Diggins. But if she really wants out, the sign & trade that makes the most sense to me is...Diggins for Vivians, Wheeler & the #3 pk
Indiana has a surplus at the wing positions and could use an elite pg. Skylar could return home and be the face of the franchise. Dallas gets a lottery pk, a young starting SF and a solid pg........There's no way in hell the Liberty are giving up Ionescu for Diggins.

I agree on the vague social media comments.
Don't really see why Dallas wouldn't have wanted to sign her to long term extension, but I don't think they can now until FA starts. Maybe they are worried she is more committed to having babies than playing basketball.

Utter nonsense. Can't sign anything at the moment anyway, and wouldn't want to until she knows what the numbers and new provisions are in a new CBA. |
