Phoenix-Seattle averaged 452,000 viewers.

Just to get this out of the way now: CBS Sports Network is still not a nationally-rated channel. It is almost certain that we will never get ratings for their broadcasts regardless of how many people watch them.

Las Vegas-Phoenix averaged 204,000 viewers. The college baseball game before it averaged 203,000 viewers. Over on ESPN, the Bedlam game in the winners bracket of the Women's College World Series averaged 1,058,000 viewers around the same time.

Seattle-Connecticut averaged 471,000 viewers.

There was a lot of sports competition on at that time. The game beat Lacrosse, but not Rugby.

Washington-Connecticut averaged 221,000 viewers.

That beats the MLS game after it, but was well below the billion episodes of Sportscenter before it.

NBATV averaged 195,000 viewers for their hours of pre-free agency coverage and then 219,000 for the show once it started. ESPN2's five hours of coverage averaged 838,000 viewers.

This is great ... and I think the additional broadcast outlets are the key. You can pretty much find a WNBA game on cable every day, if not two, and I know I'm watching more than last year. I may not see whole games, but I have all WNBA games recorded onto my DVR so there's always something recent to watch.

And watching games on cable is a great way to support the league, because it's all tracked. If folks don't have a team nearby that they can support by buying tickets, upgrading cable to include the sports package is an alternate way to directly add to the WNBA's attractiveness to sponsors and potential owners.

Any west coast games draw less. East coast viewers aren't likely to stay up late (myself included).

Sunday's game did not make it to the Top 150 in cable broadcasts for the 18-49 demographic. FOX got about the expected numbers for the Jr. NBA Championship based on last year's figures. On the girl's side, the US Championship averaged 382,000 viewers and the final averaged 353,000 viewers. Since everyone always wants to know this figure, the Cornhole tournament averaged 359,000 viewers on ESPN on Sunday.

Last night's game also failed to make the Top 150 so I have not seen numbers for it. The Little League Softball World Series championship game averaged 473,000 viewers on ESPN at the same time.

Neither game was particularly compelling. When I checked in on both, the deficit was already double-digits and there wasn't a lot of spark. The better teams put the clamps down and dispatched their opponents in a very professional, if not that fascinating, manner.
