I dont see this at all. EDD has one of the purest shots in the game while Collier shot/form looks very shaky. Yes she has hit her 3 s but from the little that ive seen from her i wouldnt call her a shooter |
Agreed. She is working very hard on expanding her offensive game. And it is definitely improving (that step-back 3?), you can see how she could become very formidable and is a player who has the underlying skill and work ethic to do it. But it isn't a natural comparison right now.

The person she reminds me of the most is Catchings. That motor, that cold demeanor, that ability on both ends of the court... |
She's not quite as aggressive, particularly on the boards. Her nickname isn't going to be Napheekaze.
She doesn't remind me of Delle Donne at all.

The closest resemblance to me is Gabby, except Collier is a little taller and maybe a foot more standing reach. Collier is really benefiting from a system and situation (Maya and Christmas both out) that really helps her. The Lynx have that Noah system that helps with the shooting. It really does help. Not sure what other teams are using it, but let’s keep it a Lynx secret. The Lynx also have not just one but two PF’s that are excellent at distributing the ball, which clears out the paint for Collier to do some damage with her cuts.
I think if it were Gabby in Collier’s place in this exact same situation, she might also have a similar kind of success. Gabby’s in a bad place now. I’m not so sure it’s Gabby who is bad. Collier’s in The Good Place.

Good point on Collier and Williams ... unless you're a flatout superstar, the situation you're put in has a lot to do with your level of success.

If i have to name someone then it would be Swin Cash. Both know how to take advantage of smaller defenders on them

Too soon to say good job reeve im sure though. |
Yeah, one game a season does not make.
But Shepard does credit Reeve to an extent! At the Team USA Reeve pulled her aside and told her that to be successful in the WNBA she needed to improve her physical fitness. So Shepard dropped 40 pounds between her junior and senior year.
Reeve was obviously impressed enough that she leapt at the chance to draft her. |
True one game is not enough to mail it in for a career.

0/3 with three points and six turnovers? I think I might be able to find one or two. |
When you put it that way ... sure yeah 1 step above a Trillion.

6 assists, which equalled the combined total of the two starting guards. |
This hasn't happened much at all.

Sheppard has another solid game 10/4/2 and Collier also played very
well 9/4/4 I thought they both played well on the defensive side of the
ball as well. Very good start so far for both of them but both games were at home against likely lottery teams. It will be fun watching them against the better teams in the league on the road to see how well they do.

I seem to remember Sidney Wiese dropping 22 on some one early in her rookie season and hasn't been heard from since

All the rookies who made rosters have gotten on the floor except the injured Kiara Leslie and those that play for Connecticut

Collier went on to have a fantastic year, I thought she would win rookie of the year over Ogunbowale because she did make the All Star team. I’m not sure if a rookie who was named a all star has ever lost ROY to a player who didn’t.
Collier reminds me of Delle Donnn because she is so versatile and can score all over the court. |

Let's not forget the achievement of Anigwe, who was the only rookie to get suspended for running away from a fight this season and maybe ever.

Funny how nobody's talking about the #1 pick, who was basically the #5 option for the entire season.

A PG isn’t supposed to be the #1 option, especially on a team with A’ja Wilson and Cambage.

Perhaps, but you generally want her to shoot better than 32% from the floor

Completely different players. Not even close.
