Ok, losing their expected pg Kyra Lambert to injury was a serious blow, but even so, that's not enough to explain or excuse Duke's 3-3 record against underwhelming competition. They have some talent, but their performance so far is inexplicable.
Wisconsin is a surprising 6-1, their only loss being a one point neutral site loss to Arkansas in their last outing. Tsipis has this perrenial doormat program on the right track. Are they far enough along to beat the current Duke squad ?

Well, Duke is up 30-19 at the half.
Duke really misses having a point guard. It shows.

Duke is up 13 with under 7 minutes to play.
They are supposed to get some help at the point as soon as this Sunday with the anticipated availability of Mikayla Boykin.

Wisconsin has played a CUPCAKE schedule to get to 6-1 before their loss to a weak Duke team last night...for those of us who have suffered through many years of poor quality basketball in Madison, their won/loss record would be more impressive if they played better quality non-conference teams...

Any idea why Marquette and Wisconsin aren’t playing this season? This is the first season in awhile they haven’t played. I really have no idea if UW or MU was the one who didn’t want that series this year. I would like to see the two schools continue to play each other and I would like to see UW turn things around.

Inexplicable?? Not to many! |
Yeah. Making RAF's case? |
LOL.
There are two Duke basketball message boards. The Devil's Den has been accused by the other (fawning) message board "DukeBasketballReport" (DBR) of being "too negative" about JPM. The same posters who left TDD are now making extremely negative posts about JPM on DBR. Really JPM apologists are now relegated to family members and the Duke Athletic Director. Or, if there are any others, they know better than to identify publicly at this point.
On a positive note, I'm LOVING the rumors that she might choose to retire before her current contract expires. Please...please...please. I'd love to start attending games on the campus literally over my back fence.
