you know what?....people ENJOY watching the "lesser" schools IMO and many have good fan bases....

and their reward?....getting bunched together as if they're not worthy...

I think there should be a mid-major tournament and maybe a low-major tournament. Let's get rid of the UConn versus Stephen Austin games and other first round and second round snoozers. Have 3 separate 24 team tournaments for high-major, mid-major and low-major.

So how do you quantify UConn, then? The conference is not a high major, unless you're including that second tier of A-10/AAC/BE as high major.

And yes, there are a lot of mismatches. But your proposal also robs us of Quinnipiac's run this year, and Dayton's run, and Gonzaga's run, and Marist's run, and... I could go on. There's always at least one team better than their conference (or at least the perception of their conference).

So they would win the mid-major tourney. and the rest of us would get a chance for once. These mismatches absolutely suck and I'm tired of them, as I'm sure a lot of other folks are.

Regional attendance can be fixed. You just have to be smarter about it. The advance planning doesn't make sense and I worry that Anucha Browne has no idea what she's doing when she's insinuating to an AP reporter that campus sites are the best solution. For attendance? Sure, but the games need to be fair and the WBCA is right on that.

THE GOAL FOR THE WOMEN's TOURNEY SHOULD BE TO HAVE ALL NEUTRAL (or non campus) SITES. You just have to be savvier on regional draws to maximize tournament and that should be a priority.

It's been proven already, before 2017: OKC and Lexington don't draw unless two specific programs (Oklahoma and Kentucky) play there - the committee knows this yet the continue to put regionals there.

Stanford not being in Stockton as Pac12 tourney champ who had to go to KS is non-sensical.

I wonder if the NCAA can do some advance planning - sure, pick a few sites years out You know Oregon State and Washington went to the Final Four in 2016, play a year in advance and put the regional in one of Portland/Seattle/Spokane the following season. Seattle has done well with the Pac12.

South Carolina has been drawing well for a few years. Make it so their fans don't have to travel. Greenville, Charlotte (when NC is ready), Atlanta - easy.

Des Moines, Spokane, Bridgeport, Greenville, Nashville, Seattle - keep going to these sites.

If you did three groupings by conference, UConn is in the 6th rated conference out of 32, which would place them in the top group.

It might be best to group based on athletic budget, which would probably have UConn at the top.

Putting Stanford in Stockton would have made no difference at all ...

Stockton is a good two hours from Stanford, through nasty traffic, and since Stanford is a national-type school, there's no regional support. (In fact, most people in the region may actually root against Stanford, as it's seen as the school of the elite and no one local ever gets in.)

Even putting Cal at Stockton wouldn't help much, because again, it's a long and difficult drive.

Stockton is also more Central Valley than Bay Area, and there's a major divide between the two areas -- the Central Valley voted for Trump, basically, and the Bay Area is as liberal as you can get.

In general, they've tried almost everything for Regionals, and it's pretty clear that getting fans to take plane flights on short notice isn't going to happen -- nor will long drives. The one thing they haven't tried is putting all the Regionals in one site and letting people get their plane tickets in advance ... though obviously that's still a risk.
