Wisconsin's RPI is 207. Another horrible opponent to add to Maryland's resume.
This is Maryland's NINTH RPI 200+ opponent. No one in the RPI top ten has more than four. And only Wis and Neb were foisted on them by their conference. The other seven, including all three 300+ opponents, were Maryland's own free choice.
If they end up a four seed, they'd be getting just what they deserve.

BTN announcer said Destiny was sick and was not in the arena; no other details.

As of right now I have Maryland as the weakest #2 seed and if they win out, they won't be any lower than a #2 seed.

That's probably true, even though they don't deserve it.
Their strength of schedule is 102. I'll say it again, one hundred and two.
You have to go down the RPI rankings to Harvard to find a team with a worse, or even a close, SOS.
Maryland's RPI ranking is 20. Their SOS is more than double all of the nineteen teams in front of them.
People mock Miss St, but their SOS is 24.
It may turn out they're really good. Maybe they'll win the championship. But you can't tell that from what they've done so far. And seedings should be based on what you've actually demonstrated.

Oh no - I hope it's not too serious. She's so important to the team - such great energy and already a leader.

They haven't lost to anybody so they get the benefit over the teams who lost to USC & Marquette, Washington St & Cal, Vanderbilt, Gonzaga, etc because they haven't lost to Michigan, Indiana, Iowa, etc.

I think you know full well that doesn't remotely explain it. They were always ahead of OreSt and Stanford in the polls, so they're entirely irrelevant. They're now ahead in the polls of teams who they were behind but who lost to Texas, NCSt, Duke and Tenn to whom Maryland would have lost one or more as well had they played teams like that. (Heck, even all four of those teams have much better wins than Maryland has.) That is entirely a result of "poll creep" as Maryland keeps winning over crappy opponents.
Obviously the committee isn't buying it, as they shouldn't. They're obviously looking for good wins, as they usually do. And the teams in front of them in the committee rankings all have better wins.

WCB according to the Massey ratings:
#3 Maryland beat #s 13 & 19, lost at home to #1 by 6.
#7 ND lost to #s 18 & 22, lost at home to #1 by 11.
Think what you want.

I thought you were talking about the committee's seedings when I made my post, not the polls.

Both. But they're only overrated in the polls. The committee has had it right all along.

Notice you left out how Notre Dame beat #8, 12, 16, 17 and both beat # 13 - Maryland by 6, ND by 19. (Maryland was tied with Louisville with 150 seconds to go; at the same point ND led Louisville by 20)
AND ND will play number 9 in a week, and a couple more highly rated teams in the ACC tournament, while MD won't.
But guess including those details would have derailed whatever "point" you were struggling to make.
And of course the committee doesn't care what Massey thinks anyhow.
And the Nolan Power Index puts ND ahead of Maryland and has ND with four wins better than Maryland's best win.
