One thing that stands out to me from both team's season's stats to this point: through 12 games, the Gamecocks have a total 174 personal fouls called against them. A'ja Wilson leads the way with 28 PFs against her, but all 5 predominant starters have 20+ each: Coates (22), Davis (23), Gray (22), and Cuevas-Moore (21).

Auburn through 15 gms have 290 total fouls called. Four Tigers have been called for 30+ PFs thus far. The leader is starter Jessica Jones with 53 PFs in 15 gms. She has scored a total of 68 pts. The next is starter Jazmine Jones with 45 PFs. She has scored a total of 74 pts.

Then there is reserve Erica Sanders who has appeared in 12 gms thus far, has scored a total of 16 pts, and called for a total of 37 personal fouls! This has the makings of an ugly foul-fest me thinks.....

Is this a mistake? TV is showing Kentucky/Missouri @ 7pm tonight. Not showing South Carolina/Auburn.

Which teams will play on SECN @ 7pm?

No TV for our game unfortunately - only the internets. Maybe this is just a pre-programmed schedule that had UK vs Mizz slated. They don't pick & choose, and swap teams around with TV broadcasts on a weekly schedule like they do with CFB.....

Well I was wrong about this being an ugly, foul-infested slugfest. It may be ugly if you're an Auburn Tiger fan though....

Auburn has started stone cold from the field, while USC - namely Kaela Davis - has come out fired up. Auburn trying to collapse into the paint and smother the Gamecock bigs, and Kaela is trying to match her season-opening effort of 37 pts versus Ohio State - in the first half.

Davis is now 7-12, and 5-7 from the arc, for 19 points. In the first quarter. Shocked

South Carolina leads 29-6 after 1st quarter.....Auburn was 2-13 from the field...

Davis picks up 2 early fouls, so she has to sit now. She has 21 of the 35 pts for USC. And now the game flow slows down, and the scoring dropping down now. USC still leads 35-13......

Gamecocks survive the 2nd qtr. and lead 41-25 at the half. Davis went out of the game with 2 fouls and took the offense with her. The game devolved down into the low-scoring foul-fest I expected to see, and USC committed the most fouls.

Davis leads the game with 21 pts, with Cuevas-Moore adding 8 pts. Katie "Freaking" Frerking leads the Tigers with 7 pts. Wilson and Coates combined for just 7 pts for USC.....

Gamecocks beat Auburn 73-47 as Coach Dawn Staley wins her 200th game as USC's head coach.

After the crazy 1st qtr. where Kaela Davis scores 19 of her total 21 pts, the game settled down into the type of game I was expecting: a sloppy, foul-infested low-scoring affair. Auburn's gameplan was crystal clear: crash down hard on the paint and deny Wilson and Coates, and force the Gamecocks to beat them from the perimeter. It's been a successful formula for opponents against USC in recent years, so why not?

But this time the Gamecocks were able to answer that strategy. Both Davis and Bianca Cuevas-Moore - who scored 19 pts as well as dished out 7 assists with 0 turnovers - combined for 10-15 shooting from behind the 3-pt line, as the Gamecocks as a team shot 14-28 (50%) overall behind the arc. A'ja Wilson adds 10 pts and 11 rebounds, while Alaina Coates was held to only 5 pts on 2-2 shooting, and 6 rebounds....

Katie "Freaking" Frerking led the Tigers with 16 pts, and was the sole Tiger in dbl. digits....
