CAA 2006 Openers: Ten Colonial Athletic Association women’s basketball teams began theirrespective 2005-06 campaigns last weekend. The CAA enters the second full week of women’s basketball with a 8-6 overall mark.

Colonial Athletic Conference Weekly Women's Basketball Report

On the week of Nov. 28, the CAA registered a 10-5 non-conference record, including a pair of ACC and A-10 wins, a Big Ten victory and an Ivy League win. Six CAA members opened their CAA schedule on Sunday.....

Quanitra Hollingsworth of VCU was named the Colonial Athletic Association Women's Basketball Player of the Week. The rookie recorded 19 points and 17 rebounds, both game highs, in 31 minutes of play. She also added two assists, two blocks and two steals.....

Georgia State Earns First CAA Win As Henry-Manning Records 250th Victory

Georgia State won its first-ever CAA conference game on Sunday by defeating Towson 89-65. The win was also the 250th of Lady Panther head coach Lea Henry-Manning’s career. In other women’s action, VCU handed UNC Wilmington its first conference loss of the year, and Old Dominion beat Drexel to take lone control of first place....

Old Dominion pulled ahead of the rest to stand a top of the conference with a perfect 4-0 record. VCU knocked off a 4-0 UNC Wilmington squad on Sunday. The Seahawks fell to 4-1, joining Delaware and Hofstra tied for second heading into the next weekend of conference play.....

William & Mary Shocks Delaware at Home, ODU Improved to 6-0 in CAA Play

William & Mary shocked Delaware with a 73-62 win in Williamsburg on Sunday. With the Blue Hens’ loss and Hofstra’s win over Georgia State, the Pride take over sole possession of second place in the conference. Old Dominion defeated James Madison to improve to 6-0 in CAA play.....

February 24 - The Lady Monarchs of Old Dominion defeated VCU Friday night to clinch the number one seed in the upcoming CAA Basketball Championship which will take place March 8-11 in Fairfax, Va.
