I picked Kansas State.


While their schedule has nothing the qualifies as a marquee win, yet they did beat both NC State and LSU by 17 and 15 points respectively, so they are not just squeaking by some middling teams. The play Auburn next and maybe that will expose them, but I think they deserve a higher ranking.

That said, I suspect South Florida will find themselves in the poll fairly soon. They don't have a quality opponent till January so the should keep racking up wins, and while they won't move up because of the quality win to watch some other pretenders down past them.

I would love to say Marquette but after their loss to Santa Clara I'm not sure they deserve it yet. I see them having the potential to be ranked sometime this season though. They host another Top 25 wanna be a week from tonight when UW-Green Bay comes to town - UWGB has pretty much owned MU in the last 10 years or so (and maybe the whole series - I can't recall that) - hopefully MU can beat them this year.
