As with last time, columns go Stiles, Woodard, Maravich. That last row will have to be removed pretty soon though.
She's still in solid position to get to third after the next game.

If I am a midlevel European team, I am preparing a pitch to her and whatever agent she chooses as soon as she becomes a professional. American rookies rarely have the ability to both shoot and run a pick and roll with nuance so a team that builds a relationship could grab an advantage on teams higher up the chain who are not willing to risk signing a rookie.

More competition was needed tonight to make her shoot more.
I am too lazy to calculate now, but the Arizona State loss should get us closer to where I need to delete the last row. Reaching Woodard would probably require two great postseason runs now.

The last row could disappear by next weekend, so it's probably best to look at it as not being there.

TOUGH to call , i remember watching stiles play when i was in middle school and she was flat out the best scorer ive ever seen in WCBB . She literally put the whole SW mizzou state team on her back . It was so sad when they lost in the Final 4 that year she was a true Gem .

Not sad if you were a fan of the better team that starred a better player that beat them.

What better player are you referring too ? SM or KD ? Not a fair assesment especially after the injury issues that plague stiles and yet she still managed to win WNBA ROY and NOT that better player that starred on the better team in college

Stiles was an awesome scorer, but you also have to consider that she got most of her points against Missouri Valley Conference opponents. It was sad though that injury cut short her W career.

Yeah, it's tough to compare them directly. I never saw Stiles play--no, not even in the 2001 Elite Eight. I didn't grow up wanting to go to UW or even following college sports at all.
As myrtle pointed out, Stiles played in the Missouri Valley Conference, whereas Plum plays in the best conference in the country. On the other hand, I think it's unlikely Stiles had the kind of support that Plum has had. Not to take anything away from her teammates--I'm sure reaching the Final Four was a team effort. They won some 29 games that season and upset the #1 seed in their bracket. However, I have a hard time imagining that Stiles was surrounded by players in the same realm as players like Chantel Osahor, Talia Walton, Jaz Davis, Aminah Williams, Natalie Romeo, et al.

The Duke game was even more impressive (link is on the side bar).
Who was it (some announcer) that said Matee Ajavon was a more athletic Jackie Stiles?

LOL, you gotta watch out for myrtle's 'pointers'.
1. Yes, Jackie DID play in the MVC. I don't see anyone casting aspersions on, say, Patricia Hoskins, Lorri Bauman or Jerica Coley for their teams' lesser conferences. Also, as wnba09 pointed out, Jackie DID earn wnba ROY, and THAT was playing amongst the best of The Best.
2. Plum does NOT play in the best conference in the country. (Did myrtle tell you that, too? ) She's in ONE of The Best, and she and her team have made huge contribution to the Pac 12 being far better than in recent years, so that counts for something, tho.
3. Re: Stiles v. Plum? I followed Jackie's career, and honestly? If I had to chose between the 2, with each at her prime? I'd pick Stiles in a heartbeat. She's more athletic than Plum and I'd say she's better on defense. And I'd also opine that she was better on 'creating her own shot', as they say....creating something out of nothing. But I also would not declare Plum as anything LESS than amazing. I really hope she DOES get the record.

3241 + 39 tonight again vs. UCLA = 3280.
The top 3 now looks like this:
1. Stiles at 3393
2. Griner at 3283
3. Plum at 3280
4 points to elevate Plum to #2
