So very sad. I have watched, admired and respected Pat Summit since the age of 13. Though I never met her, I had the pleasure of seeing her coach, live, several times. This woman is the Godmother of WBB. My prayers to Tyler and her entire family. May they feel the love of all who love her, near and far. #PrayforPat

Sportscenter just interviewed Kara Lawson. It was heartbreaking listening to Lawson speak about Summitt. So emotional. Today's going to be a rough one.

All Tennessee hearts are heavy today.....and many who do not live there are Tennessee in their hearts. We have lost a legend, an inspiration, a friend. Rest in peace, Pat. You have fought the good fight, you have finished the race, you have kept the faith.....for all of us.
Go Big Orange.

I extend my condolences to all of us today as Coach Summit's passing is an irreplaceable lose. In particular to my sisters and brothers of Vol Nation, I especially extend my sympathies on a lose that has come all too soon. I salute Pat, her family, and all the fans of Vol Nation. May you find comfort in the thoughts that the accomplishments of her life have made all our lives that must better. Thank you, Big Orange for sharing this wonderful person with us all.

RIP Pat Summitt. You were tough yet fair, intense yet compassionate, demanding yet loving...you impacted so many people of all ages, races, male/female, etc. Your legacy has no bounds. From increasing the chances for women in athletics to the very last days increasing the awareness of Alzheimers & Dementia, it is truly amazing the differences you have made in the lives of many. #RIPPat #simplythebest

Very sad hearing about this this morning. Pat was the reason my interest in women's bball grew with her teams and will always remember hearing about the Meeks. RIP to a legend.

I am so sad and heartbroken. Coach Summit and Chamique Holdsclaw were the reason i started watching women's basketball. I loved everything she brought to the sport, from her tenacity to her scowl. She was truly a GREAT ambassador for the game, a legend and pioneer. I always wanted to play for her growing up, despite being a guy lol. She made me a better player. I am so sad. RIP COACH. I'm glad she's in a better place but it still feels so sudden. Ugh. You guys have a blessed day.

Such a loss. She made a huge difference for female athletes, not just those who play basketball. Having a grown up in an era where girls had zero options to play on teams, I very much appreciate Summitt's work to change that reality. We still have a way to go, but without her and other determined women, we'd likely still be in the dark ages for women's sports. Her legacy lives on every day.
I hope she is at peace and my thoughts are with her family, friends and former players as they mourn her loss.
The NY Times has a thoughtful obituary on her life and accomplishments. http://www.nytimes.com/2016/06/29/sports/ncaabasketball/pat-summitt-obituary.html?[/b]

Hearts are heavy this morning learning of the passing of Pioneer, Legend and Trailblazer Pat Summit. We honor her for all her accomplishments, yes, but even the more for all the lives that she Blessed and Touched along the way. Praying that the Lord sends His Angels to Strengthen and Comfort her family, friends, former players and all of us who loved her.
Pat has gained her wings......
