Chloe Molloy, PG out of Australia, has committed to VCU. She also visited Fordham and UVA.

Kianna Smith, a 6-0 guard from Troy HS (who shoots threes well), committed to Cal.

What did you think of Ionescu dropping Cal and OreSt and adding Wash to her list? Surprised?

Too bad for Cal. She might have been the missing piece.

I think there might be some other stuff going on ... but I'm not at all surprised she dropped Cal and Oregon State.

Twitter rumors are she's headed to Wash as a package deal with two other players. Any idea who they might be?

Seems strange somewhat when they have two assistant coaching vacancies. Wouldn't you want to know who half your coaches were going to be before you committed?

I may be able to answer both questions with a single answer. The rumor I heard was that she would enroll at Washington along with Romeo (Nebraska transfer) and Evina Westbrook (2017), as long as their AAU coach (Kelly Sopok of Cal Stars) got one of the assistant coach openings.

What is this I hear about Ionescu being a considerably less than stellar student, though?

The problem with the scenario with Romeo and Ionescu is that there isn't room for both of them. They have only one spot remaining so they'd have to bump a player. Would Neighbors risk that to get three program changing guards? Or is that why it's taking so long?

No, they have room for both Romeo and Ionescu, as one of the players on their roster (Jenna Moser) is a walkon: https://twitter.com/Raoul_000/status/727916933207580672

And Westbrook is class of 2017, or course.

Very interesting, I stand corrected Fighting.

If there's a loser in that scenario, it's one of their guard recruits from Santa Barbara, Melgoza. She'd be recruited over twice and make it three times if Westbrook commits.

Reports are that it might now be Ionescu and Corsaro (formerly Kentucky) looking at going together to Washington . Corsaro's new list does not include Oregon.

So if Corsaro and Ionescu hit Washington together, then that means Romeo is out. Unless they come up with another spot.

Oregon gets a 2017 verbal commit from Spanish guard Aina Ayuso of Barcelona.

Per multiple sources on Twitter, JUCO AA Cheridene Green has verballed to Tenn following a campus visit several days ago. She's recovering from knee surgery and likely won't be available until 2017.

This is a turnaround for the Lady Vols, but that's okay, no need to cling to an old system "just because". As long as the academics are up to snuff and the attitude is good, welcome to Big Orange Country, Cheridene!

Tenn had 2 JUCO's in the starting lineup when they won their last title, so this is not too much of an aberration. Green had 20 ppg and 16 rpg with multiple games with 30+ rebs last year, and has played with the British natl team. If she rehabs successfully from her impending ACL repair, she should be a welcome addition.

That was a LONG time ago. After the Lady Vols really got rolling, Pat decided she preferred to start her players out as freshmen and integrate them into the system from the beginning rather than try to change habits learned in other places. She rarely accepted transfers (Michelle Marciniak being an exception because she'd recruited her to start with) and until 2007 she didn't take any more JUCOs. That was when she finally picked up Shannon Bobbitt (who'd wanted to be a Lady Vol to start with but didn't have the grades) and Alberta Auguste to fill out the roster.

Juco Wilka Montout was recruited hard by Tennessee before finally signing with South Carolina in 2012 . Montout made very little impact at South Carolina , but she was 6-5 and also visited Tennessee and Virginia that spring .

2017 5-11 SG Haley Troup out of Gadsden, AL committed to South Carolina today. An above-solid perimeter shooter, Troup joins 6-1 Wing Elizia Grissett as commits for the 2017 cycle. Troup had offers from Texas, Auburn, Vanderbilt among others....

Annika Jank, 6-3 f, Edina, Minnesota to Colorado. Other known officials were to Arizona State and Arizona.

She had committed a year ago or so to the previous staff, but re-opened her commitment when the Lappe resigned and JR Payne was hired. Known she's re-committed to the Buffs.

2017 6'3" F Mikayla Vaughn of Philadelphia commits to Notre Dame.

Saw her play a couple a couple months ago in a Nike EYBL tournament with the Philadelphia Belles. Had been a long time since I had seen her name mentioned in connection with ND and didn't realize she was being heavily recruited by McGraw. Was impressed by her movement and length, but she didn't seem to get many touches on offense - Espinoza Hunter and some other Belles aren't exactly in the habit of passing the ball. Nonetheless, the only team stats I could find had Vaughn leading the Belles in PPG and RPG after seven games.

She's played three years of varsity ball, last year averaged 15 PPG and 8.5 RPG while shooting 65%.

Oh, and she has a 3.9 GPA at a highly regarded private Quaker HS outside Philly. An article about her from earlier this year:. http://www.mainlinetoday.com/Main-Line-Today/February-2016/High-School-Basketball-Star-Mikayla-Vaughn-Has-a-New-Attitude/

ND needs a couple tall players in this recruiting class. This is a really good start.
