I don't know who the announcing team is as I turned in the game midway through the first quarter but they are refreshingly good. For the most part none of the program or conference hype, no tangential personal stories just straight simple let's talk about the game and nothing else. The focus is on X's and O's and they are damn good at it. Even for the novice it is understandable. Refreshing. ESPN Doris, Debbie et al take note please.

(Courtney Lyle and Andy Landers) Shades does a great job but we need to read. Smile

Landers' comment actually are about what's going on on the court.

Refreshing.

Duh me. Oh, ok thanks Link and as always a big thank you to you Shades. There are actually moments of of silence where they allow the game to breathe, to explain itself. The old days of announcing.

They should do the SC UCONN game but ESPN will have none of as God forbid they only talk about what is happening on the court absent all the hype. Unfortunately won't happen. Sigh.

Love the way after the one v two promo of ESPN's hype of the UCONN SC game, Courtney as the segue said hardly anything and Andy said absolutely nothing, just right back to the game as they should. ESPN must not be happy.Good.

I can see why Christinaki has 11 assists. That was a sweet pass.

Hmm....she's only a freshman, and she's from Greece. Nice find.

One of the highest scoring SEC games I can remember in a while (regulation, non-overtime games). Good to see.

Wasn't too long ago Butler was considered to be on the hotseat and she deserved all the crap that went down after the Syd Moss transfer. That said, she's making some strides with this program.

And Ky is fighting hard with Tenn to see which one of them can finish lower in the SEC standings. Weren't those two supposed to be in a fight for the second spot in the conference this year behind only SCar?

How is the SEC tourney structured? Who gets byes and double byes? Could KY and Tenn both play on day 1?

The top 4 get double byes. 5-8 get single byes. Leagues a log jam, tho. Still feasible either team could finish anywhere between 2-14. bama and Auburn are really horrific.

Not often you see a team shoot 58% from the field - including 46% from behind the arc - 75% from the line, out-rebound your opponent by 11, and still lose the game.

This is a case of UK not bringing enough defense to the game in order to ensure the win....

Butler responded to the criticisms by re-tooling her staff, and brought in some assistants that are bringing more fire and passion to the program and out of the players. Quite possibly has saved Butler's job....

Not really. It was their 30 turnovers.

Both teams scored 18 pts from 3 while Florida had 14 less turnovers.

Mitchell's crew is probably starting to run on fumes. After the earlier departures, the team is down to 10 players, 4 of whom are new to the program. Not surprising then that a team which strives for high tempo offense and pressing defense is running out of gas. I think this especially will take its toll on the backcourt which outside of Epps and Thompson isn't highly experienced.
