Wow. Here's a battle of two messed up underperforming programs. Even matchup. Might be a good game.

I think that Purdue is better, but both once-great programs have certainly fallen back. I think that both coaches need to go. Maybe the new Purdue coach will schedule Notre Dame again. There are lots of great mid-major coaches to pursue. It was a good idea to go after an Indiana native succeeding at a mid-major but it's time to discard and draw another coach from the deck.

Purdue actually played fairly well and was clearly the better team. As much as Purdue has fallen off, it looks like LSU has fallen MUCH farther. Wow, they didn't look very good at all. I know much has been written about the coach and it will be interesting to see what happens. The good news for LSU is they will take on a winless Marist team tomorrow. Purdue will take on Louisville, which will be interesting as well.

Marist looked OK vs. Louisville, so I think they will handle LSU fairly easily. I think the Cardinals will beat Purdue handily, but Louisville has disappointed me with their every performance this season, so we'll see.

Marist looked ok? Did Louisville look ok? I didn't think either team looked ok. Purdue and LSU certainly aren't world beaters but the games I watched yesterday I wouldn't say that Marist & Louisville looked better than LSU & Purdue.

Marist did not impress me against St. John's, if that helps break any ties in the "who looked less good" competition. Very little of the precision and crispness that I'd been accustomed to seeing from them.

Perhaps this is the How The Mighty Have Fallen Tournament?

Glad to see Purdue get the win. It seems, if nothing else, they will be better than last year.

72-49, LSU over Marist. That was fairly easy for one team.
