Ohio State is advising season ticket holders that expected crowd will exceed 10,000. Hope the home crowd is rockin'.

My voice is a little hoarse today. Will rest it as much as possible tomorrow until game time! Laughing

Hmm, I'm surprised -- right now the vote is 6-6. Is that because Ohio St has already played SC while this is UConn's first game? Also, UConn has some bench injuries, but it shouldn't have that much of an impact:

Quote:
• Short bench for Huskies: UConn will be without junior guard Saniya Chong (IT Band Syndrome), freshman forward De’Janae Boykin (tender Achilles’ tendon) and sophomore center Natalie Butler (injured thumb). Highly-touted freshmen Napheesa Collier and Katie Lou Samuelson will be the first two players off UConn’s bench assuming Gabby Williams gets the start as is expected. On the other side, after dealing with a seemingly endless flood of injuries last season, a healthy Ohio State team went 10 players deep in a season-opening loss at South Carolina.

I suspect it is more hope than belief. We keep wanting some kind of parity in our game...that is, everyone except UConn fans. Very Happy

We may have gone 10 deep, but not the minutes from the bench I was expecting. Cooper and Hart MUST play better to even have a chance to compete.

Will UConn give enhanced (AKA junk) defensive coverage to Kalashnikov Kelsey and challenge the rest of the Buckeyes to beat them, or will they play her straight up and concentrate on shutting down her teammates? I think UConn will primarily play straight up, but mix up their coverage assignments and defensive schemes throughout the game.

Here's hoping for an interesting and competitive game. 41 points by Kelsey would be entertaining if the game isn't competitive.

Really Glenn? With all that's going on we have to use rifle references to describe a good shooter? Rolling Eyes

OSU will need more than just 2 players to score for them if they want to have a chance to win tonight.....even if those two are as great as Mitchell and Alston. The other players will need to step up offensively.....

I wasn't thinking of that, but of Pistol Pete. Thanks for the perspective.

Basically the perfect start for UConn. Forcing turnovers and making Kelsey Mitchell defend (and draw fouls on her!)

Except they can't stop Miss Cooper, so far anyway.

Overall I don't think Cooper and Hart are going to shoot as well from outside as Mitchell, Alston, or Holland, so if I'm UConn I don't mind these shots, thinking long term they won't be that high percentage.

Bucks too much in a hurry and sloppy. Too bad for fans that KM gets in foul trouble.

Well, it's 24-15 after one. It could have been worse--but Miss Cooper kept them within striking distance so far with Mitchell on the bench for most of Q1 with two fouls. Happy so far with Kia Nurse boosting my fantasy stats.

Kia Nurse is so freakin' strong. Usually gets a shot up on the rim even when being fouled.

Laughing At least she didn't chuck up any bricks, unlike Lou.
