Seems like Purdue has been getting talked-up on TV as "coming on", "watch out for Purdue", etc. Vera Jones said this last week I think it was, and Karl Ravech said as much at halftime of ASU-OSU last night.

What's the deal? I don't see what the hype is about. Lost to Nebraska, beat some other mediocre teams, waxed by tOSU, took 2OT to beat PSU....

I don't think that Purdue is all that, but they are far better than they looked last season, so that's surprising people. OOC, they took Stanford to OT and beat Louisville in a tournament. They also beat Dayton (although that was after Austria's injury). The have been competitive in an improving B1G (7-3), losing games @Michigan State and @tOSU (with the one bad loss you referenced in West Lafayette by 1 to Nebraska). Besides the bad loss to BC in the the ACC/B1G challenege, they have looked pretty good. Sagarin has them at 28, and Massey at 24, so they are borderline top 25. Again, this is far better than what was expected coming into the season.

Well, that'd be good for your fantasy team. That's a nice jinx you've cast for them though.

Walker-Kimbrough as 18 points with over 5 min left in the 2nd quarter.

McBryde for Purdue is looking really good for a freshman.

If Purdue could even spell "defense" they might have a chance here.

I'm not sure they've ever heard the word before.

Well, Purdue hung around for a while at least.

Critical 5 mins coming up; gotta avoid the rout.

Did Under Armor give Walker-Kimbrough a special invisibility jersey so Purdue can't see her? Otherwise how do you leave the player that is absolutely torching you wide open right under the basket?

It's pretty amazing that MAR is only up 9. The three pointers must be saving PUR

Purdue closed to 9 here in the 4th Q but has just let it get away from them since that point.

Has Maryland been playing Jones and Howard together frequently recently? They seem to be on the court together tonight more than I recall earlier this year.

Kimbrough just got her 41st pt. Big game.

Might have wanted to try out a box and one Purdue.

17/21 shooting for Walker-Kimbrough. 6/7 free throws. Quite a performance

Bet she doesn't miss Lexie Brown.

And she was 1/4 on 3's, indicating that she was 16/17 from inside the arc. Smoking!
