ok I'm plotting my upcoming moves so if you have a proposition for one of my stellar Sunday players, now is the time to make your supplication! You snooze you lose! Cool

edited to add after midnight (For Cardinal's accounting mind):

ok, our first move du semaine: we will waive ABK, as the Troy announcers call her, but I prefer EE, ee, ee which is what I start saying when she hoists, which is regularly. So: Beverly Kelley is gone and we will sign another Center to our stable instead, (at least this one plays on Saturdays) Kiana Vines of Texas Southern. Not sure if she was involved in the brawl last year or not, but she is one tough cookie. The Miracles seem a bit wimpy this year so she should keep the rest of the team in line.

Anyone have a forward they would like to trade for a C, now that I have three of them? Matt has all the forwards, and I'm stocking up on C's. Hamblin is maybe available though I kinda like her. My only true forward seems to be permanently out of commission with her ankle issue. And Plum and Walton both scare the sh* out of me when they start hoisting so give me a low key but semi reliable replacement and one of them could be yours as well/instead.

We've been pretty boring with no trades this year...

Sunday lineup:
C: with all those C's you'd think I'd have one...wrong.
F: T. Walton, WA
F: M. Podkowa, DePaul
G: Tabby, SH
G: Plum, WA
G: Banham, Minny

Monday Feb1
C: Hamblin, OSU
U: Vines, Tex. So.
(should I activate Weise?)

Tuesday:
C: B. Jones, MD
G: S. Walker - K, MD

Wed:
G: Koizar, Maine (lonely Miracle)

Richards, Albany

Myrtle, I see what you're doing there. Ruth's been reaaall average looking of late (or maybe it's just my Cardinal tinted glasses).

On account of Canada's injury, I will very lazily do the following:

IR: Jordin Canada, G, UCLA

true. but even her 'average' has been pretty steady. Steady is not a term I would use for most of my team. There is something to be said for someone who doesn't 'hurt' you. Most of my team these days have forgotten how to shoot. It's a good thing we had built up some lead in percentages because they have been going down, down, down...

Didn't want it to come to this, but I'll have to drop Diamond DeShields, Tennessee, and add Bria Holmes, West Virginia.

For those looking for a center, you might be interested in Channon Fluker of Cal State Northridge. She has had 3 double doubles in her last 3 games, and on the season she is averaging close to a double double, no doubt helped by her last 3 games in which she averaged 28.3 points on 69% from the field and 12.7 rebounds. BTW she is only a freshman, not that it makes a difference in this particular game, but pretty impressive performances by a freshman. Very Happy

BTW I haven't gone through the entire thread, so she may already be on some lucky GM's team.

Just curious: Is she related to Tyesha who played for Tenn about a decade ago?

Monday's lonely Card:

Rucker, Bryant.

Cardinal will be rooting heavily for Sydney Weise tonight. Chaos in the Pac-12 would be nice for some teams.

me too...there has been some disagreement amongst the Miracle management about whether or not to activate her and if so who to drop. The problem is always that ASU is really good at making opposing teams play 'ugly'. I notice Cable had a big game as soon as we dropped her, as have several of our other ex-players. sigh. Murphy's law at work?

That's interesting. I saw they were both from the same city and was thinking maybe cousins. Looks like similar body types.

It doesn't mention anything in Channon's player bio on the Cal State Northridge website, but I found this article about her being named the Star-News Player of the Year that mentions it.

Quote:
Local high school girls basketball fans may see or hear the last name Fluker and think back to Class of 2002 Muir standout Tye’sha Fluker, Channon’s half-sister, who parlayed a strong prep career into playing at Tennessee and later the WNBA.

Quote:
In a twist of fate, Ty’esha Fluker joined Maranatha’s coaching staff last summer. And now the knowledge of what helped Tye’sha play with four different teams in the WNBA is being passed down.

Kicking and screaming, we will waive Talia Walton, Washington, whose shooting has just killed us lately, and re-sign Brene Moseley, Maryland.

Adding Moseley to today's lineup:

Tuesday:
C: B. Jones, MD
G: S. Walker - K, MD
G: Moseley - MD

Wed:
G: Koizar, Maine (lonely Miracle)

hmmm, throwing the Miracle management into chaos eh? Shocked If you'd asked yesterday... now we have our EOY strategy mapped out. Will require some indepth analysis. You know I have a soft spot for MoJeff but can we leave so many points and FTs on the table?

At the same time, you have the opportunity for greatness coming up against South Carolina. I'm sure that you want everything that comes with that instead of rooting against her in the titanic matchup.

Left to me, I would do it. I expect great from MoJeff this week. But my partner is kicking and screaming no, no, no...so no it will have to be. If only you had offered prior to our last transaction I think I could have convinced him. sigh. [I can still root for her, but at the same time T. Mitchell is a fav with me, so I will have to root for her as well]

What can I do to spice it up for your partner? Perhaps I can dangle Ally Lehman in front of you too? Moriah Jefferson and Ally Lehman for some combination of Rachel Banham, Kelsey Plum, Brionna Jones, and Ruth Hamblin.
