Penn State Lady Lions head basketball coach Coquese Washington is now officially the new president of the WBCA. Washington had been President-Elect for several months. Coquese becomes the first African-American to be named president of the organization. Coquese of course was a 4 year starting point guard for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish and in 2001 helped Notre Dame win the NCAA Championship. She played professionally for five seasons and was a member of the Houston Comets when they won the 2000 WNBA Championship. She also has been named B1G Coach of the Year three different times.

As good as Coquese is as a young coach...she is an even nicer person. What most people probably don't know about Co is that she earned her Juris Doctor Degree from the esteemed Notre Dame Law School in 1997. Washington was hired by then Acting Penn State AD Joseph Vincent Paterno back on April 23, 2007.

Coquese is awesome. Loved her with the Liberty; mom and I were more broken up about losing her in dispersal than we were Sophia Witherspoon.
