I guess in America we don't consider track and field a "major" sport.

If we did, Geno Auriemma and John Wooden would be pikers in the world of coaches who won NCAA Division I championships.

Arkansas track coach John McDonnell won 42 (yes, FORTY-TWO!) counting cross country, indoor and outdoor. But even if you limit McDonnell to the most glamourous of track's endless seasons -- outdoor -- he won 12 of those!
