Shades, I really appreciate the work you do in compiling all this information, but I think the starting time for this game is incorrect. It is listed at noon ET everywhere else.

Yup. So noon is the correct time. You have to get out to around Indiana/Alabama before you hit Central time zone, although the zone zigzags a bit.

Yep. Tennessee is Central Time but states directly north are Eastern. And tomorrow (Sat night starts Daylight Savings time!

Not all of Tennessee is Central Time! East Tennessee is still Eastern. Central starts at the Cumberland Plateau. So Knoxville is Eastern but Nashville is Central.

[quote="Shades"]The ACC site seems to produce the user local time instead of ET like most sites.

Just one of many things I hate about the latest redesign of the league website.
Honestly I am so used to American sports being listed in Eastern time instead of local time that I get confused even when I check the Pac12, Mountain West, or my pro teams even though they post times in my actual timezone.
Good thing it's not an hour earlier. I am not generally in a good mood at 8am on Saturdays.

So there was some early round excitement, but in the end the top four seeds are left in the semifinals.

17-7 midway through the first half. The announcers keep taliking about Duke's defense not stopping tthe Irish but they are actually holding them to a 70 point/game pace. It's the pathetic shooting of Duke that is the problem. Not every inside shot is a good shot. Duke's total lack of a perimeter game shows up every time they play an elite team.

WOW! That collision just before the half HAD to be either a charge or a block. The fact that there was no call says to me that the refs have an agenda. What it is I have no idea. But refs with agendas have no place in sports.

this is a sleepy early game. I always hated playing those early games. The temperature in the arenas were usually weird (on the cold side) and the whole atmosphere felt sleepy.

Duke being guard deprived, wonder why ND with all its quickness and athleticism is not implying some kind of press / trap. It worked to perfection when UCONN turned up the pressure. Duke has no ball handlers on the perimeter.

Some stats 5 minutes into the second half:
Combined 3 pt shooting: 4-21
combined assists/turnovers: 9/23
Duke shooting 29%
Irish shooting 31%

There are easily a half dozen MDAA's in this game. This goes to show that it takes more than talent to play high level basketball. The execution in this game is pathetic.

the blond ponytail woman was the ref that made the call, she was refing the Louisville/UNC game. I thought, after making many horrible calls against Louisville in quite a few games she had an agenda against them but after watching her more, she might just be incompetent...or be on some type of power trip.

I'm thinking its half a dozen per team. Duke may have more but its low scoring because Duke's defense is really long and poses problems plus their offense just isn't that balanced since they lack guards so they won't score a ton. Next year Duke should be high scoring again

Excluding UConn and ND, nobody will want to play Duke in the NCAA tournament. Look how their defense is slowing down the explosive ND offense and although Duke isn't scoring a lot, most teams don't have Turner back there to swat shots.

Duke could lose in the first round to a #14 seed or make it to the Final Four, and neither would surprise me.

I like when ND plays underwhelming basketball as they are today.
They seem to be a less emotional team than even Uconn and are so different to me, in that regard, than the Anchonwa/Diggy/Novosel/Mac/Bruz/Peters/Mallory et al

It looks different when both teams have MDAAs than it does when one team does and the other has players whose recruiting rankings were in four digits.
