Rumor on a LSU board say she might be joining Nikki Caldwell staff at LSU

Georgia should give her a shoot.

Are you referring to Peck? Have you forgotten her debacle at Florida? She was blessed with seniors that basically led that Purdue team to a title.

Florida still sucks so it wasnt Peck

^^^^^This.

I disagree

Florida isn't what it was when Ross was there, but Florida was much worse with Peck than they are with Butler

Peck had 2 winning seasons in 5, having a stellar .486 record. Conversely, Butler is .671 in 8 seasons, and only had only 2 losing seasons. Butler has won at least 20 games in 5 seasons, coming close in her first season also with 19 wins. Peck failed to win 10 games twice in her 5 years.

Let Georgia hire her...you will have a dumpster fire in Athens within 3-5 years.

As has been outlined in this thread, it is not a good point. Butler has been much better at UF than Peck was.

To be fair to Carolyn Peck...

...and I cannot believe I am typing those words...

To be fair to Carolyn Peck, to the best of my knowledge her troubles were strictly on the court. Butler has managed to combine that with a string of off-court issues.

http://jacksonville.com/sports/basketball/2015-03-23/story/unf-dismisses-womens-basketball-coach

Quote:
Tappmeyer was told of her dismissal late Friday afternoon, with the understanding that the school wouldn’t make an announcement until Monday. But when word leaked out on social media Sunday night, she had to text her players that were returning from spring break and recruits to inform them. Tappmeyer finally met with her players at noon Monday.

Tappmeyer was the only coach of their women's b-ball team Univ. of North Florida ever had. Her contract had expired, and administration wasn't going to renew. Perhaps it also means that they are finally aware that they have a women's program, and it was time for a new coach.

No brainer, she ruined a powerhouse there....they will get it back but need to stay local. get a good CA coach and rebuild that excellent program, no excuse for a 2 win season...not at UCSB

Duke Coach Joanne P. McCallie is married to John McCallie, who has a position at UNC. He'll get a part time gig at some university if JPM takes another job. There was no job for him at Duke, perhaps due to him being arrested for biting a security officer.

She started out well, with an unexpected NCAA bid the first year, but obviously things declined steadily after that. As you say, it was a no-brainer, and it looks like she had no luck at all recruiting.

There's no reason UCSB can't be successful in women's basketball, but Carlene Mitchell's four-year reign of error has pretty much scorched and burned the program. It will take some time to get back on track, and there's no guarantee ...

Rebuilding from such a disastrous coach at a place like UCSB in the highly competitive mid-major state of California is going to take a long, long time, even for a very good young coach.
