For a later reply by Joe, or a another numbers cruncher;I say the MAC WBB Western division is the the more difficult, harder to win against division vs the Mac WBB Eastern division, top to bottom-much more parity than East Division, top to bottom. Prove me wrong. Take past 5 yrs.

Then, explain if a division-less system, first MAC Conf. game to last MAC Tourney game would produce the best all around MAC WBB team for the NCAA Tourney. Later, ask yourselves why we are only one of 2 conferences hanging onto to divisional status. Do not exclude politics, $$.

On a slightly less profane note, the MAC got what I think is a record six teams into the WNIT -- Akron, Ball State, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Toledo and Western Michigan.

Slightly off topic, but ya think Pete Lembo and the football staff got tired of hearing about the Tennessee game in 2009 and decided they wanted their own shot at history? Go Google Ball State's 2018 football schedule to see what I am talking about!

I agree with Joe -- they could not have sent Ohio to South Bend?

Hope Ball State gets a home game and on Wednesday -- or they get no photos. Sucks to be a workaholic!

Western Michigan lost their WNIT game at Arkansas State 61-49. The Broncos played from behind almost all night against the more athletic Red Wolves, but cut the lead to 42-40 with 11 minutes to go. That was as close as they got. Good game from Miracle Woods with 18 and 7.

Ouch. The MAC really took it on the chin last night with losses by Buffalo, Akron and Ball State. I watched the first halves of Buffalo/WVU and Akron/KState, and the games were never close. Didn't see any of Ball State/MTSU.

So the MAC drops to 0-4 in the postseason. Over to you, Toledo and Eastern Michigan.

I found this bit in the UT game notes:

Toledo and Wright St. shared five common opponents in 2014-15: Cleveland St., Dayton, Detroit, Purdue and Southern Illinois. The Rockets tallied a 1-4 (.200) ledger against the teams listed above, while the Raiders finished 5-3 (.625).

Having a hand in her death is pretty heavy handed. They drank with her but didn't put her behind the wheel, allow her to speed or not wear a seatbelt.

If our defense is consistently strong, and with at least 3 players in solid double figures offensively(hopefully w/Jay-Ann on fire), few t/o's, high% of rebounds and free throws, we have a decent change. A good turnout by our 6th man(the fans) would also be important.

Our game is locally on BCSN and radio 1230, both of which have online streaming as well.

Toledo wins, 72-64 over Wright St! Will play MI at Toledo in 2nd round of WNIT. Will supply stats etc... when verified and available.

One stat I will mention is that of Brenae Harris, who scored a triple double, with 16 pts, 11 assists, and 11 rebounds. This was definitely a team win. Cool

Good night all around for Toledo girl's and women's BB. Very Happy

The above link includes the game report as well as stats, etc...Hope the team can bring that same intensity and basic will to win as witnessed tonight. They were so focused that I do not think a fire in the arena would have deterred them. Four players scored in double figures and Brenae demonstrated why she was initially recruited by MI. Wonder if the MI game will be a bittersweet reunion for her.Inma is a Pro and Jay-Ann continued to impress as a freshman, with much more than her deadly treys in her arsenal. Sophie improves with each game and Ana has developed into a defensive player to be reckoned with. The bench of Monakana, Kessler and Rasmussen left it all on the floor.

To say I look forward to seeing this team take on MI is an understatement. .

Eastern Michigan won at Drake, 80-70. Watched the first half and the Eagles looked to have the edge in speed. Cha Sweeney finished with 28 points.

Watched the first half of the Rockets' game as well, and thought Toledo pushed the pace more than I had seen them do in the regular season. Seemed to help them put more points on the board.

So the MAC postseason record goes to 2-4. Over to you, Ohio!

Am sure Ohio will make you and the MAC proud, Joe. Just another OOC team to put in your defeated column.

No help today from the Bobcats on the MAC's post-season record. Although there wasn't much question that Arizona State was the better team today, Ohio didn't play well either. MAC slides to 2-5 in the post-season, but still has two teams alive!

Give OU players a break, Joe. It was their first post season game in many moons. They were no slouch;just look at the MAC and OOC record they put together to get there. Not that it gives OU a free pass to attend again in the next few years. Wink

Bask in the limelight while you may.

Eastern Michigan's WNIT run ended tonight at Southern Miss, 76-65. Toledo lost to Michigan on Monday, so all MAC teams have been eliminated from the postseason, with a final postseason record of 3-7.

Sue Guevara renewed at CMU for 5 years.

"The Central Michigan University Athletics Department announced Friday women's basketball Head Coach Sue Guevara has signed a new five-year deal with the school.

Guevara's new contract, which runs through the 2019-20 season, will pay her $234,000 annually. She will receive a base salary of $204,000 per year and cash in on another $30,000 for television, radio and other promotional appearances.

Entering her eighth year as CMU's coach, Guevara's old contract had a base salary of $194,500 per year following an extension in October 2013."
