The Beavs may be the favorites to win the pac-12--as of today, given all that has happened--but it will be really interesting to see how they do with this first real test of the year.

The best of the Pac-12 on TV at the same time tonight?

(I get that it's just streamed, both games anyway)

Seriously, how am I supposed to watch Oregon State slaughter UNC and Stanford fall to Chattanooga?

I'm guessing Oregon State will be just fine with most UNC possessions ending in long jumpers from Xylina McDaniel.

wrong again! Smile

OSU up 18-11 w/ 10:xx left in the first.

I had forgotten what a shitty coach Hatchell is. The UNC offense is pitiful.

Pretty stark contrast to the ball movement and floor spacing going on at the other end. I like what I'm seeing from OSU so far.

Me too. Impressive offense by OSU. They know how to play the game. They could be a Top 5 team this year.

To me it looked like UNC was just going thru the motions in the first half, I expect a better effort in the second..

Go Beavs!

i thought the body language in the UNC huddle was terrible. 2 of them didn't even look at hatchell.

how did they beat stanford?

How did they even beat Rutgers? I'm still confounded by that one.

Upcoming schedule looks pretty good for the Tar Heels though.

The reality of the Stanford game is that the Tar Heels might have just been determined enough to avenge a huge loss in the Tourney last year and were willing to work together to overcome a tough Stanford team.

There is also the possibility that Stanford isn't all that great this year.

UNC is a piss-poor fundamental team. I guess nothing's changed in C.H.

Cherry takes and misses a terrible 3 before running any offense and then throws away a 50-ft pass. on the break.

She should be sitting.

There's also the possibility that Stanford's interior is non-existent, and UNC took full advantage of that.

What does this say about UConn if a sub-par Stanford can beat them?

Well I haven't had the chance to see any of today's game, but judging from the comments in this thread, I don't need to; I can just repost what I wrote in the UNC-Rutgers thread. Sounds equally applicable tonight:

"UNC looks just like a typical UNC team. Undisciplined, no patience, don't protect the ball, just send them out on the court and hope that your players are athletic and talented enough to outscore the opponent jacking up quick 3s and charging out of control at the basket. (Rountree's drive with 1:23 left in the 1st OT is truly a classic.) When Rountree, Butts and McDaniel are on the court together that has to be the most out of control trio in WCBB. Gray looks positively out of place among that group. . . .

UNC has enough talent to beat a lot of teams this year even playing like that. And if they are hitting threes they can upset better teams."
