Anybody following this one? Stanford has a one point lead (32-31) with less than 2 min. in the half. Lili nowhere on the box score.... Shocked

Thanks for that info. NM is taking FULL advantage of that, I'm afraid....either that, or they've radically improved. But I know they've given Stanford fits in their arena before, too.

Looking like Stanford is pulling this out. Freshman Johnson with 23 reb?

Greenfield is a problem. She shies away from rebounds, doesn't defend well for someone 6'3", and slows down the offense. That was not a good game by Stanford. Nice job by Kaylee Johnson on the boards.

Wow. With 30 seconds to go, Stanford was down 1 to the then 0-3 lobos. In the last 30 seconds, Antiesha Brown missed two free throws and NM missed two 3 ptrs while Kaylee Johnson, Orrange and Bonnie Samuelson made their free throws when they had to. Good pressure road win for Stanford to pull that out, but even without Thompson, that was very nearly the biggest upset so far of this young season.

BTW the teams combined to miss 21 FTs. Shooting 44% from the free throw line like NM did is a good way to lose down-to-the-wire games like this.

It would have given a lot of teams a confidence boost if the team that beat UConn lost to New Mexico.

The Pit is a tough place to play. Both men's and women's teams have won about 80% of games played there.

Stanford was up 16, Greenfield gives up 2 threes, doesn't even have a hand up and then does a weakass drive to the basket, NM off to the races, 8 pt swing to NM. A 6' 3" player who plays like she is 5' 3". You could do a hilite reel of how not to play basketball just from 1 game.
