First team

Jewell Loyd
Tiffany Mitchell
Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis

Aleighsa Welch

3 players from UConn, 2 from South Carolina

Conferences

AAC: 3
SEC: 3

ACC: 1
B12: 1

The Pac12 was shut out.

The ACC appears to be lacking in talent this year. Of the top 25 players, only 3 were ACC teams:

SEC: 6
PAC12: 4
B1G: 4
AAC: 3
ACC: 3

I'd put Amber Orrange or Brittany Boyd on an All-American Team before Moriah Jefferson.

It's not about what you do, but rather who you know Wink

You seriously have to be kidding me with that one? That is pure dislike of UCONN. You have watched all three of them play I assume? Sorry, but Moriah Jefferson is better than both...and't not really that close.

These are preseason projections, so I wouldn't put too much stock in them. It's tough to determine which players are the best based on the previous year's performance because some players deferred and may change when no longer under another player's shadow. Who thought Sims would turn into such a prolific shooter last season? Can you imagine Lili and Amber as focuses of the Cardinal offense? They could have great years. On the other hand, who thought Maggie Lucas would regress without Bentley there to attract defenders? Also, there is always a freshman or two who shine, but projecting college performance based on H.S. performance is fraught with peril, so I'm happy that none of those players made the preseason top 25.

What is DOES reveal is these writers' preconceptions, so players from conferences that were more-or-less overlooked have a taller mountain to climb. I'm very excited to see how several freshman players develop, and how the season plays out. While there are certain constants (UConn on top), it seems this year is more unsettled than most recent years, as several dominant teams seem to be in transition. It will be interesting to see how well these teams navigate the uncertain waters.

Please, remind me how she did against UConn?

I don't put much stock in an exhibition game.
