So if a school gets nailed for an APR violation, are athletes allowed to transfer without sitting out a year?

I think so, but I'm not sure.

Also, is there a limit on how many times an athlete can transfer?

For this one, I don't think so, but let's say an athlete transfers in good faith to a school which then gets hit with an APR violation. Can the athlete transfer again?

Yes. When the UConn men's team was hit w/ the APR violation at least one player transferred w/o penalty.

Someone needs to explain an APR violation in the context of college athletics. The meaning in finance is broad and I, for one, am having trouble relating it to college sports. I'm sure I'm not unique out here.

Thanks beknighted! I really couldn't figure how the Absolute Priority Rule would apply unless it had to do with undisclosed parts of the student-university scholarship contract.
