I've noticed their have been a good amount of Australian players playing NCAA basketball this year and in years past, I was wondering what some of them were up to and if we will see some of the older ones or current one eventually part of the Opals Program.

Here is a list of some of the Australians that I've noticed who have play(ed) in the NCAA.

Kate Gaze, St. Mary's
Hannah Kaser, St. Mary's
Lauren Nicholson, St. Mary's
Louella Tomlinson, St. Mary's
Bree Farley, Fresno State
Courtney Gaze, Fresno State
Alex Sheedy, Fresno State
Jacinta Vandenberg, Fresno State
Claire McLeod, Pacific

Virginia Tech has 3 underclass Aussies among their top 6 scorers - Vanessa Panousis, Hannah Young and Maddison Penn. I thought the freshman PG Panousis showed particular potential the few times I saw them.

It didn't do them much good. They were still the doormats of the ACC. They really belong in the Colonial Conference, they are so bad….

That's pretty cool, I didn't realize there were so many Australians, and I'm sure there are a lot more than haven't been mentioned yet, but what are peoples thoughts on whether they could eventually be part of the Opals program, also does anyone know what the players who have graduated are up to now. I'm more interested in Louella Tomlinson and Claire McLeod because I got to see them play live, but it would be interesting to here about the others well.

Nicole Seekamp led the University of South Dakota to its first ever NCAA tournament this year and had 21 against Stanford in the first round. I mentioned her on the board last year, she has good height for a guard and we could possibly see her for the Opals someday. She was already part of one of their younger programs.
