Interesting switch. Tempie was promoted to Associate Head Coach last year at MSU after Shane Clipfell left for the Western Michigan job.

Here's Part II of the TSO interview.

Is this a trick? Where is "here"?

readyAIM, I definitely think TSO is talking about Andrew Calder. The guy has some serious sideline anger issues (some of us call him "Old Yeller") and clearly is not leaving until Sylvia retires (hence the lack of advancement issue).

While TSO does talk about how Sylvia gave her credit for recruiting, I really don't know that this is the case. Old Syl has always taken full credit (she is a HOF coach after all Wink) and didn't give TSO much for those "studs" she really worked to get.

Apologies. I messed up the hyper-link attempt by (apparently) neglecting to include any link. Embarassed

And I agree with UDHarvardBC, neither of the two long term UNC assistant (Calder and Williams-Johnson) are going anywhere until Hatchell retires. On the sidelines, Williams-Johnson is The Smiler to Calder being The Yeller.

So the third assistant will always (imo) be 'stuck' in terms of career advancement w/in the program. And that's sorta fine if the 3rd assistant is a young, relatively inexperienced coach (like Latta). But for someone with TSO's previous experience that's not going to cut it long.

Not sure if this was mentioned anywhere, but if not, here goes...

Former WNBA star Yolanda Griffith was hired as an assistant at Lafayette College, in Easton, PA.

School press release:

Quote:
Griffith, who spent the last two seasons as an assistant coach at Dartmouth, will be the top assistant on Dianne Nolan's staff. She replaces Kim Foley who has accepted a similar position at Eastern Illinois University after three seasons on Nolan's staff.

Congrats to Yo!

The first line in their "Campus Life" description includes "across the street from a cornfield". Sounds like the right place.

Old Dominion hires ex-Monarchs men's assistant Jim Corrigan to a similar position with the women. Corrigan spent the last 19 seasons as an ODU men's assistant and was the interim head coach for the final 8 games of the 2012-13 campaign. He has 26 years as a Division I assistant to his credit but will be coaching women for the first time.

Xavier - OPEN

Georgetown - OPEN

How fast are schools going to start recruiting those players committed to those schools for 2014? None of them have signed and they will probably wait until the recruit publicly decommits.
