Amber Harris just picked up her 2nd foul, less than 8 minutes into the game.

Impressed by Appel's willingness to use her off hand. Thought she might be left-handed for the first ten minutes or so of the game.

Sure that wasn't Phillips?

Nice passing by Xavier. They don't look intimidated at all by Stanford.

Stanford's defense has been less than spectacular so far. And now Appel just went to the bench with two fouls.

April Phillips (NOT Ta'Shia) also has two fouls. X is in foul trouble, for sure.

It's very early, but the way most people on this board talk about Xavier, shouldn't they be down by 35 already?

Xavier didn't get the memo.

That plus Stanford looks tentative offensively against Xavier's zone. Lots of bad decisions.

What an ugly whistle-fest.

Stanford looks lethargic.

All that foul trouble's pushed Xavier into running some funky defences, and Stanford don't look like they know what to do against the unusual sets.

Surprised at all the fouls that are being called at this point in the tournament. Most of the games, the refs have been letting them play, and bodies have been flying, but this game, every thing is being called suddenly. Probably means that nothing will be called in the second half.

The match-up between Pohlen and Jennings is amusing.

Appel picking up two quick fouls didn't help. Tara sits you if you get two in the first, and the card have looked completely lost when she's not on the floor a few times this season.

Typical WCBB refs, no consistency from minute to minute as to what they'll call.

Stanford has no idea what to do against the 1-3-1. On the other hand, I'm not sure Xavier is going to have enough eligible players to finish the game. And they can't buy a 3, which they're going to need quite a few of to win.

I do think Amber Harris is a freak athletically. If she continues to develop she can be quite a pro.

Every time Stanford looks ready to run away, Xavier keeps getting a big basket and/or a big turnover. It's amazing that the game is still this close.

That was another no-call foul on Appel.

If Xavier could hit some 3's that would be great.
