ND fought hard, played pretty well. Would have had a chance if they figured out the UConn D in the second half.

UConn shot awful and still won by 15, pretty encouraging.

Reffing by Spence was pretty bad. Missed a ton of travels, could not see the Becca foul from where I was sitting, but the Doty thing, I mean ND was TRYING to foul. Bonita kept looking into the crowd when Doty was getting tended to, how dumb can she be? People were shouting some pretty explicit thing, and she continued to look. Fastest she ran all night was leaving the court. She better hope shes not reffing tomorrow.

46% is not "awful" its not great or average for them but thats pretty good. i think the main problem was TOs

Saw this on cnn.com this morning.

Interesting read....although I think the title of the article is fairly misleading because a good chunk of it talks about how good UConn has been while not providing reasons it's potentially a bad thing.

Interesting comments from Stringer (she's just tired of losing to them obviously) but the best line comes from Doris Burke. If only it were that easy though.

The last 70 game UConn streak ended in the finals of the BEast tournament against a team the Hussies had blown out at home in the regular season. Don't count out West Virginia...

As a UConn fan I am not ruling anything out. As we saw yesterday any team hot at the right time and with confidence can give UConn a game.

Please tell me how it is that #23 for UConn can jump on a WV player (at 17:41) with no call and then at 17"26 #10 for WV reaches in while on the floor and is called for the foul?

Also, I watched the last two UConn/ND games and I recall #23 jumping on Barlow in about the same place (@ND sending Barlow into the UConn bench and again last night) on the floor both games.

***Sorry, I'm a little behind, I went back to replay those plays and I'm going to catch up during the commercials. I love my DVR!!

Ghod, please stop with the "Xavier might be the highest mid major seed since Jackie Stiles". Hello, SMS was a #5 seed. Yes, it was a complete and utter screw job by the committee to send them to Freakin' New Jersey, but they got their revenge in spades.

Houston was a #3 seed in 2004. #3 is a higher seed than #5.

And GWU got a 5 in 2007, to boot.

For what it's worth, while I personally would have given SMS a 4 seed that season, they were #20 in RPI, with 3 losses to teams in the RPI 51-100 range. It wasn't crazy to give them a 5 seed. It was, just to pick a recent example, nowhere near as bad a decision as giving Arizona State a 3 seed in 2007.

Compared to a 10 loss NC State team? An Iowa team that SMS had drilled earlier in the season? Xavier? Speaking of mid-majors seeded higher than #5, SMS wasn't even the highest seeded mid major in 2001...

Doris Burke (Beth Mowins?? - I get them mixed up all the time): "She (#32 UConn) grabbed that with her left hand and put it back up with the right."

Rolling Eyes

I swear that she peed herself while saying it.

Please tell me that this color commentator didn't say that Xavier could challenge UConn. Rolling Eyes Where do they find these people?

I heard that too. Ridiculous.

There are three teams that, if they're at the very top of their game, COULD challenge UConn. Even if its coach scouted UConn for the 2001 Final Four meeting, Xavier sure as hell isn't one of them.

The whole of ESPN's WCBB gang has a thing for Xavier. Charlie Creme and Graham Hays think they're a strong #2 seed.

I suspect the rationale behind picking Xavier is that they have posts who can counter Charles down low. Of course, Xavier doesn’t have an answer for Maya Moore, but who the hell does?

So, I walked into my bedroom, turned on the TV and saw the score was 33-28, with the ball about to go to WVU. I said to myself "Huh, so it's a game," went to the kitchen to get some dinner out of the fridge.

I was gone about 3 minutes. When I came back it was 43-30.

It's like UConn teases us.

West Virginia has done a number on Moore, but can't deal with the Husky backcourt.

So UConn scores 59 and 60 points against two top-15 teams and still wins both decisively?

Do they really? Because I think they have two posts who would be schooled by Charles down low.

Maya never seems to perform as well on national television, I've noticed.

That's because the Syracuse games aren't on TV!

I kid, I kid.

One thing that disturbed me about Moore is that the commentators said she hadn't attempted 100 FTs entering tonight's game. You can't be serious. Rolling Eyes

So, if you were going to put together a team to beat UConn, who would be on it?

Name eight or nine players and a coach to beat this team.
