I can't believe it's already here. This season has (thankfully as a Purdue fan) flown by.
Northwestern and Michigan started the tourney this afternoon in front of about 12 fans (at least that's what it looked like on TV) and UM pretty much handled Northwestern from start to finish.
Minny and PSU have just gotten underway.

Dang....lots of Big Ten fans on here I see LOL
Anyway, in Day 2......
MSU dumps Michigan.....DeHaan only played 8 minutes....some type of injury...hope she's alright though.
Iowa continues their resurgence by beating Penn State. Even though I think the Big Ten sucks, I still have to give them a lot of credit for coming back so strong in the second half of the season. They are definitely playing well at the right time.

Illinois is absolutely painful to watch. I hope that someone on the team learns to shoot soon because I can't imagine that Ohio State won't blow them out at this rate.

I'm not sure which is more painful: watching Illinois (actually they aren't that bad), or listening to Vera Jones call a game. She's grating.

I've been working under the assumption that the crews for the tournament brought lots of booze with them, because while they've been hysterical, they've also been incoherent.

The Boilers will bounce back. It has been a very strange year for them. I like Rayburn but she is better as a supporting player than a first option.

They have sucked this year.....that's the bottom line.
The thing that bothers me the most about this team is that they have really shown no improvement during the course of the year.
Versyp needs to go out and get herself some veteran assistant coaches. The assistants she has around her aren't very experienced, and I think at a program of this caliber you need to make sure you're surrounded by people who know what they're doing. This is nothing against Ukari Figgs...I love her....but Purdue was probably not the school to start her coaching career at.

Would you prefer Purdon't? |
How about Purstunk?
I was expecting a exciting game but I didn't expect a blowout. Wrong on both counts._________________ If you cannot inspire yourself to read a book about women's basketball, or any book about women's sports, you cannot inspire any young girl or boy to write a book about them. http://www.lulu.com/spotlight/Richardstrek |

I would like to stand corrected on my previous statement. The BTN crew didn't bring booze, they brought booze and recreational drugs. I swear Vera sounded stoned by the end of the Purdue-Wisconsin game, and I don't want to think about how many boilermakers Stephanie White might have thrown back.
Remember, kids, don't drink and commentate.

Take it from someone who has followed Purdue all year: tonight pretty much met expectations.
Thank god this season is over.

I'm pretty sure Vera is always on recreational drugs.
I thought the Wisconsin's posts did a pretty solid job. Will be interesting to see them vs. Lavender.

Michigan State leading Iowa 26-25 at halftime.
Slow start to the game, but became back and forth during the latter portion of the half.
DeHaan did not start with the back spasms she suffered yesterday, but has played including a block at the buzzer to the end the half.

Every time I've watched MSU this year they've been disappointing to me. Jefferson is nice offensively but I really didn't like her defense....lets just throw myself out there hoping a ref bails me out and calls a charge every possession! And Keane was just frustrating to watch tonight.
