I'm curious to hear from fans of other WNBA teams: What do you get for your money when you buy a ticket?

Minnesota Lynx STHs get their seats, four or five special events a year, including a potluck and a draft party, a few chalk talks by an assistant coach, and a selection of goodies (a signed item, extra tickets or a DVD, or an event for your kids and so on). STHs also have their own website and get e-mail invites to special events sometimes . . .You can get two pretty terrific season tickets for a thousand bucks.

The best ticket deal is probably the Meal Deal:
$13 Meal Deal includes:
$10 game ticket
Hot dog
Bag of chips
Small pop
Pom100 yogurt
Old Home coupon

All ticket buyers get a nice, glossy, one-sheet program that lists both teams' rosters and stats and also has a Lynx article on one side. Sometimes there are special deals on cheap hot dogs or pizza. The food at Target Center is pretty lousy, though. A soda is almost five bucks. A beer is a little more than six bucks. You can get wine and premium beers.

Giveaways this last year included "green" t-shirts, a BIG Wiggins poster, free Ren fest tickets . . .I think there were Montgomery jerseys for kids one night, too.

We have an NBA City restaurant at Target Center and often a coach or two will cruise through after a game and say hi. Coach Gillom is particularly great with fans, I think.

So what do others get when they buy a ticket? Very Happy Let's compare notes!!

Fever MVP's (people who pay early or commit to a payment plan*) get quite a few perks.

Free parking
Picnic w/ team
other girts - this year was a ten year anniversary hat
Discount on merchandise
Free viewing party tonight
I'm sure there's there's more that I'm forgetting

*Courtside season ticket holders get the MVP perks automatically - I guess they realize that we need more time to pay off our seat Wink

I promised my rep a deposit of about 10% - and then I'll come up w/ the rest before tip-off next season. That's the best I can do (just like the 2009 season) In fact, I better bring it w/ me tonight... Very Happy

One disappointment this year was that (due to budget cuts, I'm sure) we were not allowed to bring guests to the picnic. They made exceptions for some of us the last couple years. I couldn't bring my neighbor kid w/ me - even if I offered to pay for her.
It was too bad, because the last couple years there were lots of kids playing games and meeting their role models that they look up to.

Last season Catch had a pick up game w/ a bunch of kids after all the other players had gone home.

I was a lynx sth this year and didn't participate in any functions. When surveyed at the end of the season, I expressed wishes for a parking deal in lieu of all of the other stuff.

I would hate to lose the draft party and the STH potluck (which I always miss but hear it is fun). However, I agree, I would sure like a parking deal.

The Lynx have done parking deals in previous years if you paid in full by a certain date. I think it was usually a ramp several blocks away.

It will be interesting to see how parking is impacted next season with the Twins stadium on the same side of downtown.

I agree parking perks would nice, but the cost is generally better for Lynx games than Gopher games. I usually pay $5 for Lynx games and $9 or $10 for Gopher games.

I park in the lot behind the Central Library, Nicollet b/w 3rd & 4th. $4 every time. Not free, but not the $9 event rate, either. Maybe a tiny bit farther from my seats vs walking through the skyway from the ramp.

Or I ride the bus, but I know that's not easy for everyone.

New York Liberty season subscriber here, in the second-cheapest seats in the house- $15 a game, for 18 games (17 regular season, and they always manage one home preseason game, which the front office tries to use as the Camp Day game so we don't have to climb over the little munchkins in a game that matters).

There's a season subscriber gift each year: sometimes it's a t-shirt, one year it was a notepad in a nifty leather binding, one year it was an umbrella (which Happycappie and I didn't get, but that's okay, because our rep sent us a 2003 team autographed jersey instead). For every seat you have, you get a voucher good for two $10 seats to any game. There's also a parking voucher for select garages.

One event each season: it was frequently an open practice in the early days. The 2009 season set the Libkids and the fans loose in a small amusement park; the 2008 event was at Randall's Island, where we discovered that Cathrine swings a pretty decent bat and Ashley can boom some long drives; the 2007 event was a Q&A at the practice facility up in Tarrytown, which was a bitch to get to, and we spent more time in transit than we did at the event.

They used to give out coupons for food and merchandise, but I don't think they did this past season.

Different levels get different perks: game notes, autograph passes, an invite to watch practice, and other cool things. The plebeians in the higher sections can arrange for some of this stuff by forking over additional cash to their rep.

If I've missed anything, I'm sure there are enough people here who can fill in some of the details from their superior seats.

As an aside, I would kill for the Liberty to do like the Storm and Sun do and allow STH in half an hour ahead of the official opening.

I parked in ABC ramps and paid $9 per trip. Maybe, I need to do more research. I don't want to walk too far away. I like the safety of the ramps.

I usually park in Macy's, which is $5. Block E is $5 for weeknight games. I think they charge $8 on Friday and Saturday.

I'll probably forget a bunch of stuff...but I know the Shock seem to throw in a bunch of extras as the season goes along.

There are incentives for renewing tickets early. This year it was priority seating for a party. In the past it's been attending open practices, free parking during playoffs. Last year when we renewed early we also got t-shirts. There are also additional incentives if you renew early and pay for 100% of your tickets early...but I can't remember which incentive is what. sorry. I always renew early and pay the balance all at once so I have a hard time keeping track of what perk is what.

Basic bennies..
We get in 30 minutes earlier than everyone else for the games...

Discounts on merchandise in the Palace Lockerroom store

Invitation to two Squad events including exclusive end of season dinner (this is at the Roostertail - very very nice place, awesome dinner)

Free B-day greeting on PalaceVision

Guaranteed Giveaways (very cool, don't have to be one of the 1st 2500 at the game)

Access to postgame shot on the court and Palace behind the scents tour

Cheer now, pay later option for playoffs

Exclusive Squad member - only giveaway item

If you are a VIP seat holder, you get all of the above PLUS

Free pregame VIP dinner in Canadian Club for week night games

Passes to postgame player/coach meet-n-greet

Special courtside chalk talk with a coach

Centercourt photo opportunity

All in all no complaints here...the Shock Org does a great job at making you feel like you are a part of something, rather than just buying a ticket to an event. They do a great job....

The Shock take care of their fans, and out-of-town visitors too.

Did they do a calendar this year?

Umm, I'll take three trips to the finals and two shiny Tiffany trophys for 13 years of STH money....very fair trade off in my book!!!

Try Dayton's ramp. $5 after 5PM and only a one block walk to the entertainment complex with the theaters in it and there is skyway access through there.

Here's another deal: Donovan's Irish pub across from Target Center has really good burgers and fries for six bucks or so before Lynx games. REALLY good.
