Sports Center seems to think this 25 point, 9 rebound, 4 assist game put up by Derrick Rose is a big deal. Only the 4th such game in men's F4 history.

So, how many time has it happened in the women's F4? Three that I can recall...

1991 Dawn Staley had 28-11-6 in a losing effort (though she won MOP of the F4 anyway)

1998 Chamique Holdsclaw had 26-9-4 in capping Tennessee's perfect season

2005 Sophia Young put up an unheralded 25-10-6 for Baylor

Two notable close calls...

Charlotte Smith had 23-8-8 in the 1994 final
Ukari Figgs had 24-10-4 in the 1999 final

I suppose it's happened a lot more in tourney games outside the Final Four. Wiggins had 41-10-8 in the second round.

Also, I wouldn't be surprised to see Appel put up a 25-9-4 game tonight.

Besides being great stats, can someone explain the significance of those numbers? and why Smith and Figgs are "close calls?"

Sports Center was going on and on about Rose posting those numbers, as only Bird, Magic, and Corliss Williamson had done in the men's F4 before.

Figgs and Smith are close calls because, well, they were each just a bucket or less away from matching.

Didn't Wiggins just accomplish this feat tonight?

She fell short on the assists, but I think a 24-20 game by Fowles is pretty remarkable as well (considering her team scored 46 the entire game).

yep, without Fowles, LSU wouldn't have had a chance against Tennessee. That game reminded me of the Michigan-Michigan State WNIT game. Both were the basketball equivalent of the old school Michigan-Ohio State football games of the "Bo vs. Woody" era, when the first team to double digits usually ended up winning.
