Wiggins doesn't want to lose. Shocked

Also, some frustration fouls by Maryland... That's not good. On the other hand, Appel and Pederson need to be careful with fouls.

A long way to go pilight. Especially since Maryland will be shooting free throws the rest of the way.

Appel needs to be careful here and not pick up too many quick, cheap fouls.

Attention Dave Pasch and ESPN:

Stanford beat Rutgers 60-58 in Piscataway back in November.

To any Pac-10 (non Stanford) fans that think that Stanford will falter next year, JJ Hones.

Will she be the all around weapon that Wiggins is, no. But between she, Gold Onwude & Pohlen they'll get it done on the perimeter and Pedersen and Appel will own the middle.

This West Coast Husky says Go Cardinal! Till next season starts at least.

I have actually really enjoyed seeing Hones drop it like its hot in this game. For me, it means that I'm not* watching The Candice Wiggins Show -- and for me, not watching that is always a good thing. Razz

As for thinking Stanford will falter...I don't know that I'd say they'll falter. But I do agree with you that Hones will not be the all-around weapon that Wiggins is. I think more importantly, she might not be as consistently good -- as she is tonight or as Wiggins has ever been.

*Not saying, Candice isn't also dropping it like its hot, but at least Hones diverted some of the attention.

I was just going to post about that too - and to make matters worse that game was on ESPN.

Artistic license for the photographer. I believe it's oil.

Funky fingertip pass by Tolliver. I'd like to see her step-back 3 a little more.

Wiggins is, just, da-yum. And those of us who watch PAC-10 ball are not surprised about Pederson. And she's kicked it up a notch. I, too, am sad she's just a frosh - get the hell outta my conference, you monster! So not fair.

"As long as Uconn's healthy.."

Confused Four knee injuries (2 ACL's) and a Shoulder injury (if we count Renee and Tina..which, seeing as they are still getting medical attention we should)

And she's talking about Uconn being healthy..

Stanford has got to keep attacking here. Plenty of time for the Terps to get back in this thing.

79-72 Stanford w/ 6 minutes left!

Okay be careful Stanford

Good girl..

BTW, Montgomery...as much as I love the girl, is not in Toliver's category.

Well, it was November. <sarcasm>It's really hard to remember back that far.</sarcasm> On the other hand, the odds that a team in the Elite 8 played Rutgers are pretty good - RU played 5 of the other 7 teams.

Wiggins is playing out of her mind again. Of course, it would be even more impressive if Maryland had a clue about how to play defense. (Not that Stanford is playing much defense, either, but it's a bit more than Maryland is doing.)

I also notice that Maryland - down by 15- had scored more points than LSU by 10:55 left in the game.

Ok, now this is more like it, Md is back in it thanks in no small part to Toliver taking it upon herself to carry the offense.
