But the stress produced poise. Pitt got to the Big East tournament semifinals—where Connecticut routed the Panthers for the second time in three weeks. Then Pitt upset Baylor, the national champion three years ago, to get to its first regional semifinals. It was the first time since 1981 the Panthers had beaten a higher-seeded team in the NCAA tournament.

“I mean, I don’t know how they can look at anyone and be intimidated,” Berenato said of her steely Panthers. “As long as you’re not Connecticut, we feel like we have a chance. And that’s the truth.”

I love Stanford, but I've gotta root for the underdog. GO PITT!

Terrible start for Appel. Three missed chippies and a turnover.

That's a joke... the only way it would have went up is if she threw in 45+ points.

Pitt's doing a good job defending Wiggins. But when they aren't missing chippies, Stanford's post players are dominating.

Stanford's posts are quicker than Pitt's. But Pitt's guards look quicker than Stanford's.

I don't recall Agnus being that great of a coach while at Tech.

Stanford's posts are missing a lot of chippies. O_O

I think Candice needs to start imposing herself on this game. A quiet first half for her.

Wish I could've made the trip down to Spokane for this weekend but once the snow started I really didn't want to get stuck in Idaho!

Hrm. Stanford isn't looking to pass to Wiggins for some reason. Wiggins keeps flashing by and everyone keeps looking away from her.

Very sloppy first half for Stanford. And I think their guards are having trouble with Zellous' quickness. How will Tara adjust in the second half?

could have been the SEC challenge... could have been her style... could have been she was finding her way.... could simply be that she's got better players now.

But we sure as hell are enjoying having her in the Big East. She's a hoot!

This game feels like it should be a Stanford blowout. Yet Pitt keeps doing just enough right (and Stanford enough wrong) to stay in this thing.

When Stanford got it into double figures I thought they'd just keep on rolling but Pitt fights hard
