From this morning's BDC on preparations for Monday's game:

"I've gotten a look at what this team is going to look like in the future," McConnell-Miller said when asked about replacing the leadership the two seniors have provided. "I don't know who is going to evolve as the leader, to be honest with you. We've got some strong personalities on this team, we've got some strong players, and it's going to be interesting who evolves as the leader."

CU hosts Villanova on Thursday at 7 pm local time.
CU's crowd was around 1.5K by my estimate.
The Buffs were on their way to a blowout when Gonzaga changed their defense from a man to a variety of zones which bothered the Buffs into turnovers. Once the Bulldogs got their confidence back they began to get physical and scrappy. From this point on the Buffs would alternate between good and bad, but there was enough to hold off Gonzaga.
The first ten minutes were a blast to watch as the Buffs were loose and very confident. The game was flowing through the Buffs constant pressing the tempo. They were also rebounding and hitting treys. Gonzaga looked lost until they changed their defense and that really changed the tenner of the game.
Brittany Spears led the Buffs with a double-double (22 and 10). Jackie McFarland did a lot of damage on offense in the second half when she was able to get the ball near the top of the key and get to the basket.
Of course Bianca Smith hit a number of valuable treys, one of which broke the camel's back as a Gonzaga player tried to get through Jackie's screen resulting in a foul. Jackie hit one of two to complete a four point play that really put the game away.
It seemed that Whitney Houston got most of the time at the point, but she was up and down in terms of her game management.
The Buffs used all but two players who were available for the game and at times - primarily in the first half - seemed to be experimenting with lineups.

I've been on spring break like the rest of Boulder this week so I wasn't at the Buffs' victory Thursday night.
CU hosts TCU, who defeated Texas Tech earlier this week, at 2 pm MDT Sunday.

TCU is a lot of fun to watch on offense and it's hard to believe they didn't get a bid to the NCAA tourney. At this point they must be feeling like they let this one slip away. The Buffs had no answer for the Horned Frogs' athleticism when playing a man defense. But when they went into a 2-3 zone things started to change. The zone slowed down the tempo of the game and allowed the Buffs a chance to get back into the game.
Offensively it was Aija Putnina who got the Buffs going with her treys and active play inside and out. She had her best game as a Buff as she scored not only a career high 22 points but pulled down 10 rebounds and blocked 4 shots.
Of course Jackie was her usual self, scoring down the stretch, finishing with 30 points.
There were a lot of crazy plays near the end of regulation that had a profound impact on the game. Whitney Houston banked a desperation trey with the shot clock running down and also scored what appeared to be the game winner in regulation on a dribble drive to the basket when the Buffs had run a clear-out for her. The thing was, TCU wasn't done as they inbounded with about 4 second left and got a shot of what was short but score on a tip on at the buzzer.
The crowd was awesome in it support of the team, even when the Buffs were down by double digits.
Box score -

As they had in their previous two games, the Buffs came out slow. Only this time is was very slow. They turned the ball over repeatedly early in the game and the result was a very quick deficit that as 25-45 at the half.
The closest the Buffs would get in the second half was 12 points.
CU's early turnovers would lead to easy transition baskets for Marquette who were the aggressor on defense and seemed to have an excellent understanding of what the Buffs were going to do with each pass.
With the loss CU ended the season 19-15.
