ISU could very well be playing themselves into the tournament. I don't necessarily think so, but stranger things have happened.

Around the Big 12, most people think this win pretty much guarantees ISU will be in the tournament. They had an RPI of 35 going into this game, 0 losses outside the RPI top 50, and an SOS of 27. Also, the fact that they are hosting the first and second rounds might weigh in the minds of the committee, even though it shouldn't.

Granted, I'm an ISU fan. Smile

I went back and looked at their schedule and wins again, and their best win is over OSU. Honestly, I think that the Big 12 is a little overrated, and these teams have the RPIs they do by defeating each other.

Basically, I find the resume underwhelming, but when comparing it to the likes of Texas, I think the tournament really only needs one of the two. I'd prefer Iowa State, but like I said, it wouldn't surprise me to see both.

What happens if either ISU or UT wins the Big XII Tournament?

Well, now their best win is against KSU. Smile

The big thing ISU has going against it is the lack of big wins. Texas has a similar record against harder competition and a higher RPI (as well as a head-to-head win over ISU), so I can't see ISU going and Texas staying home. That means ISU, if they make it, will make it as the 8th team from the Big 12.

If that happens, maybe nobody from the Big XII gets better than a 3 seed, and Duke sneaks into the last #2.

Meanwhile, I think those bubbly teams from the Big Ten are getting nervous, if they aren't already.

If the bubbly teams from the Big Ten aren't nervous already, there isn't going to be much that could make them that way. This is about as bad as it gets for the Big Ten as a whole. Had Purdue not won the tournament, they were looking at truly only one legit NCAA tournament worthy team. Any additional teams would be the committee just being nice.

A&M leads 29-22 at the half

Missouri could be much closer, if not leading, if they would just stop turning the ball over and actually get a shot up. They are turning it over every other time down the court.

Kind of.

Texas/Baylor reminds me so much of this year's series between Illinois and Ohio State.

Baylor beat Texas at the buzzer in Waco, but Texas won pretty handily in Austin.

Carla Cortijo was amazing! 24 points!

Congrats to Texas!

I expect Kansas and Oklahoma State to be competitive, too.

This is my kind of tournament!

Congrats to Texas that was quite a comeback. I believe the annoucer said it was a 25+ point turnaround.

Maybe 26. They trailed by 16 at half and I swore they were up 10 at one point. But yeah, stellar comeback.

The wild and wacky Big XII. Amazing.

And I think Texas was in already, but this pretty much seals it.

This just in...Andrea Riley is very good. A major hot-head though(Latta-esque). Budke struck gold.

Is this your indication that the Big Ten isn't wacky?

They are both wacky.

Illinois and Texas are certainly running around blowing bubbles only to pop them again.
