I know that would be three people for Connecticut..but I'm not sure why Montgomery was left off the list either..

I would take Renee and Marissa over just about 95% of the list.

I would like to know how they come up with candidates? I'm still starching my head as to why they threw in a bunch of No names only not make it to the second round and Emily Fox still doesn't even get considered. Fox is the 3rd leading scorer in the Big Ten ahead of Lavender and DeHaan and is in 3rd for assist in ahead of Anderson. (7th) |

Coleman would be a legitimate POY contender at this juncture of the season. I mean, not a front runner, but top ten or so in my eyes. This is weird.

I'm stunned that the two best players in the ACC (Coleman and Wright) didn't make the cut, but it's not like the ACC scrubs they put there instead will have a chance in hell of winning.
With that said, I'm pleasantly surprised to see Chante's name on the list. She's not even close to being an ACC POY (or 1st team All-ACC, for that matter), so this has got to be news to her, Duke's staff, Duke's fans, and the like. Congrats to Chante! Keep up the great work!
The mid-season list is pretty good (outside of DeHaan being on there), but let's be honest. This just screams "Candace Parker and the 30 bridesmaids". I don't even think Maya Moore could win this year.

At this point, Parker will win unless Tennessee finds a way to lose at least two, probably three before the end of their conference tournament.
In that case, Wiggins will have needed to not lose another game, as I see her as the only real competition left. Wins over Rutgers, Tennessee, and Cal do make Stanford to be a rather accomplished squad who is relying a lot on two freshmen and two point guards coming off of ACL surgeries. Pretty impressive when you step back and look at it.
I would have said Moore, but I just don't think with the Candace/ices out there they would actually give it to a freshman.
