I never liked Ivory Latta (her mugging drove me batty), but I do like this Tar Heels team. This is a heck of a game, very exiting.

Geno must have paid off the refs at half-time. I've seen nothing but un-called over the backs from UConn. One sequence they had 3 (actually about 5) in the key and an over the back, but hey it's exciting to in on the victory if you're the ref Wink

Gampel is rocking tonight... it hasn't been that loud in there for a LONG time.

It brings a smile to my face to see Charde do well. It's now or never for her.

And Lorin Dixon has some nice passes when penatrating the lane.

How about the trifecta for turnovers in a row UNC?

B- Clint Mauro.

McCants is the new Latta. If I were Larkins...

ETA- there's a tarheels fan (sitting right behind hatchell) who seems to have raided hatchell's closet of nightmares. that vest was fighting the cute.

Entertaining game to watch. McCants takes near 20 shots and Larkins 4. When will the UNC insanity end? Despite themselves, they were in a position to win the game on the road.

A side note, it is all too predictable how the media reinforce the status quo. Even when UNC was playing well and up 10, the production was a tribute to UConn.

INCREDIBLE win by the Huskies tonight. Great defense in the second half. If they continue to play with that intensity they CAN still reach the final goal.

Amazing to me that they've made such a transition after losing Thomas less than a week ago, but I guess I'm biased.

I give UConn some credit for adjusting, but let's be real, they are bringing All-American after All-American off of the bench.

And I forgot to mention...Brittany Hunter, who has played more minutes this year than ever before in a UCONN uniform as a starter for many games, couldn't play tonight.

But Toliver makes a good point, the bench for UCONN may be thinner but still very talented. They just seemed to flow as a team on offense and defense well in the 2nd half for a team that had 2 starters in the first row.

My stat of the game: DeGraff and Lucas combined 0-9 on threes. Yikes.

Gardler? Swanier?...not.so.much.

I feel for the Tarheels. Having one of your leaders sulk and throw up bad shot after bad shot isn't what you want to see. It negates all the effort that Pringle/Larkins brought to the table.

Does UConn have an all American on the team?

don't know of any last year....

Some other stats...

Larkins 4 FGA vs. 10 for Degraff, 16 for McCants, 11 for Breland, 8 for Claytor, and 5 for Lucas.

McCants 3-16.

Tina Charles 15 pts. 19 boards.

Shocked

I guess if you look at it the candidates are Montgomery and Moore, but there is no current AA on this team.

just keeping it "real"... like giving a team credit for losing 3 starters and still beating the #3 team in the country

UConn played well defensively. I think they shot really well tonight from 3 which isn't always going to be the case. UNC didnt use their inside presence nearly enough. I think if you compare the UNC team tonight to say Tennessee or Maryland the game might not have gone UConn's way
