In the aftermath of a bitter 73-50 loss to LSU in the NCAA Fresno regional final March 26, Hunter had come to grips with the notion that she had played her final game as a member of the UConn women's basketball team. She needed only two classes to graduate. Her right knee, which has been operated on three times and boasts a meniscus from a cadaver, would never again be at full strength.
Hunter informed Huskies coach Geno Auriemma of her decision. |

Nice article. It's amazing what time away from the game will do for people.

I, for one, am very happy she's still on the team. In the minutes she was able to give last season, Brittany was ususally EXTREMELY productive. Even if those average 8 minutes decline this season, it's still great for the team and for her to be part of the squad. And I know the fans really like her presence.
Welcome Back Brittany!!!!!!

I love Britt, and thank the Lord she's returning. Without her, we would have gotten ran off our court by Tennessee last season. You could tell she was PISSED about the Parker dunk and really fired the rest of her teammates up. Hopefully she will be able to provide 15 solid, productive minutes this season. I'm hoping.

You know what makes me sick, a healthy Brittany Hunter would probably be one of the top 5 post players in WCBB and definitely the best player on the team this year. Her skill set is so evident the minute she walks out on the floor. She brings a toughness to UCONN when she is able to go that would just be unmatched if she were healthy. Coulda, woulda, shoulda is the case with her......................

so I wonder what classes she'll be taking? She basically needs to be a full time student both semesters to stay on the team. I wonder why there, no mention at all about her academic plans. Will she start work on a Master's Degree as other fifth year seniors have done?
