that 13-0 run by Russia had me worried. good to see the USA come back so strong. 19-18, Russia leads, at the end of the 1st 10 minutes.

Wow. I can't believe France lost to the Aussies. I figured France would dominate on the inside. Sounds like Australia held their own.

True, but you guys need a point guard and Wiggins is not a point guard. I see her fitting well in...*gulp*...LA.

oh hell no. Can't imagine her going to the dark side, but she is kind of local.

Well we can always pray for a PG to come along via free agency or trade again. That worked out well for us in the last off season!

I'm guessing Australia's advantage on the perimeter was bigger than France's advantage in the paint. MacLeod, Camino and O'Hea are a good trio of perimeter players. MacLeod is leading the tournament with 6.4 assists a game and an assist/turnover ratio of 2.6 (nobody else in the tournament leaders is above 2). Camino brings the gun shooting and O'Hea is good off the dribble and is a boxscore filler (rebounds and assists well for a 3). The three of them could conceivably be Opals starters down the track.

While I think those three could hold their own against the American guards, Abby Bishop and Cayla Francis are going to get eaten alive by Langhorne & Paris and that is where the difference will be. I hope to get proven wrong!

I hope you're wrong too, but it would be an absolute miracle. Eaten alive is a good description of what will likely happen in there.
Let's hope we can get some serious perimeter action happening.

USA already out to a 27-14 lead.

55-40 US half. How embarassing. Americans just too good with the Sapphires coughing up the ball like mad and the US dominating the boards. Ugh, I'm going to bed.

Lead is out to 20 late in the 3rd (73-53). Bed sounds like a good idea.

Congratulations to the USA for an excellent tournament.

one look at those stats tells me who's the obvious choice for MVP.'

yes, I am biased in favor of the Terps, but, this time, I've got hard evidence to back me up....Crystal Langhorne "ALL WORLD"!!! Very Happy Very Happy

Congratulations to the entire American Team and coaching staff!

I think Lang should be added to the Senior Team roster. She at least deserves a chance at the roster. Seventy percent from the field? Shocked
