Fascinating, especially considering that some of the games were not what you'd call marquee matchups from the "casual fan" perspective.

Yeah, amazing. Maybe the sport won't face total collapse because of the cancellation of one regular season game. Who knew. Razz

Very good find! One interesting tidbit I remember reading somewhere- this year's Final Four/NC game had a double digit drop in audience compared to the previous year. Certainly a bit of a surprise, considering that at the FF, you had Rutgers (NYC market), Tenn. (most famous program in the sport), UNC (national name), LSU (somewhat less, but still a national name). Moreover, believing in the marketing of "stars", ESPN and the media have been putting Candace Parker front and center for two + years now and it didn't translate into a rating success.

These numbers are quite an enigma and it is hard to truly grasp what gets people to watch. Or perhaps the system of measuring is flawed- granted, it has to be hard to do.
